Abstract
The final target of this research is to design an appropriate intelligent control strategy for energy management purposes in a well designed parallel hybrid electric vehicle. In the first step, the conventional “Samand” vehicle has been simulated using real data for vehicle parameters and power train components, has been simulated. Using experimental results, simulation results are validated. In the second step due to the primarily defined parallel electric assist control strategy (PEACS) for the hybrid electric vehicle and performance requirements, components such as engine, electric machine and battery pack were selected and sized.
