- Trends of energy consumption and global warming, air pollution, Greenhouse gas emission, depletion of fossil energy resourcec and the rise in costs of fossil resources, indicate that renewable energies are reliable alternative in energy supply systems. The purpose of the project is to investigate the contribution of renewable energy to meeting energy demand of housing units. Household energy system consists of various parts which do intreract with each other. Total household energy system may be represented with the help of reference energy system in order to consider the effect of changes in one part on the other sections. In this regard, the reference diagram of household energy supply system is plotted, considering diverse pathways, including options related on grid, off grid and network connection.To validate the household energy supply system model, a photovoltaic hybrid system was modeled and then the model was verified by an experimental system.The application of experimental system indicate that combination of heat and power generating systems can increase the yield of power generating system and also the panel efficiency through water heating. Since Panel temperature increase through solar radiation and panel electrical yield decrease. Utilization of a method to reduce the temperature and increase the electrical power of the panel could enhance the total performance of the system.Enhancement of the panel efficiency could be achieved through cooling the panel and the heat removed from panel might be diverted to warm watercllection for further heating.An experimental setup was developed in order to evaluate simultaneously generation of heat and power.The output heat of the system is applied for pre-heating the water of solar water heater. The results of the model validation revealed that the model can be utilized for analysis of a household energy supply hybrid system.The model was then extended to a real case and it was implemented with the help of ESM software.The results of the model showed that the best way to meet household energy demand with respect to current costs in Iran is the network delivery.Also effects of changes in resource costs on the energy system showed that the model will choose the on-grid pathway only when the cost of energy resources in the energy supply system has increased drastically
