  7. Abstract:
  8. Construction of some structures including parks, bridges and leading walls conducted on the rivers in urbanization leads to the change in the form of the rivers and consequently the change in the hydraulic. The response of river to these changes which are in the form of changes in morphologic features seems to pose some threats such as flood, damage to the buildings located on the route, weakening the bridge of highways and aggradation and degradation of the ecosystem. Kan river, one of the biggest urban rivers in the mega city of tehran, has had some changes such as resort purposes, canalization, the change of slip and roughness and intersection with different bridges during recent years. This has caused severe changes in hydraulic and sedimentation dynamic of the river; in case of lack of management and control, it can cause serious and irreversible damages to the morphology of the river as well as noticeable material and spiritual loss to the citizens.
This is why, in this thesis, the condition of hydraulic stream and the sediment of the Kan river have been analyzed especially in the upstream and downstream of transverse structures by HEC-RAS software and the cause of some special phenomena has been studied. Then West channel was omitted from it's geometry and analysed again to investigate the effect of sediment concentration reduction on the results. By comparing these two analyses, the long-term inappropriate effects on Kan river have been abtained owing to disregarding the engineering considerations in designing the structures or connecting the West channel to the river and finally the technical and management solutions are presented. Based on the obtained results, the complete morphological changes of the river in Fath, Tehran-Tabriz train station, Moallem, Azadegan highway, Hemmat highway and Hakim highway bridges are influenced by disregarding the engineering considerations in designing the structures but only 33 percent of morohologic changes in Makhsos Karaj, Mehrabad1,2,3, Bridge1,2 and Small bridge are because of disregarding the engineering considerations. Also Tehran-Karaj bridge, the bridge of Tehran-Tabriz train station and Azadegan bridge 4 are in the danger of collapse and Moallem bridge will be submerged in floods with return period 50 year and more
