  7. Abstract:
  8. In this research, among the levels of the blood supply chain, hospital is chosen for study because of its importance. A model of inventory management of hospital blood bank is presented. In this case, we consider some assumptions which are more realistic. These assumptions include two types of emergency and ordinary demands, young blood demand, and finally, a cross-match process. In the existing articles, although blood groups considered in mathematical models, the priority of allocation of blood groups is not considered in these articles. In this study, three mathematical models are developed with deterministic parameters. In the first model, the assumption of ordinary and emergency demand, in the second one, the demand for young blood, and in the third one, the cross-match process is considered. Objective function of these models is to minimize the cost of ordering, holding, shortage and wastage. After solving with deterministic parameters, the results show that wastage is zero and shortage is minimum. Then, a robust model which includes models 1 and 3 is developed. This model is solved under uncertainty of supply and demand. According to the results, differences between robust solution and the deterministic solution is shown. Finally, sensitivity analysis is performed on multiple parameters of the model, which shows that by increasing the number of cross-match to transfusion ratio, the number of orders decreases. In addition by increasing the cross-match release period, the number of orders increases. On the other hand by increasing the holding cost, the end period inventory decreases. Finally, we suggest some extensions for future studies
