  7. Abstract:
  8. Considering the supply and demand market of natural gas, methanol, propylene and ethylene and the propylene value chain, it is expected that the design of the propylene production process from methanol produced from natural gas and its implementation in Iran country can significantly flourish the production of polypropylene, acrylonitrile and Etc. On the other hand, with the industrialization of this process, the uncontrolled export of methanol from Iran to countries such as China and the devaluation of methanol will be prevented. In this report, the process of producing synthetic gas from natural gas using autothermal reactor and heat exchange reforming, separation and storage of carbon dioxide gas from synthesized gas with the help of the process Rectisol with integrated fuel cell fuel system, methanol production unit at a scale of 10,000 tons per day with combined technology of Lurgi method with condensing methanol and conversion of methanol to olefins by two methods of Honeywell, along with heavy olefin cracking unit by Total Company and the Lurgi process of producing polypropylene from methanol, along with optimizing energy consumption and integrating heat and process work were technically and economically examined. In this work, ASPEN PLUS software version 10 is used. Total costs of capital, energy, production and amount of carbon dioxide emissions were calculated. Also, GAMS software has been used for superstructure optimization of synthetic gas production from natural gas. Among the studied technologies, the unconventional process of producing propylene with polymer grade from natural gas is the most profitable. This process saves 106% in energy costs, 14% in production costs and 143% in carbon dioxide emissions, compared to the conventional propylene production. The net present value of this process is $ 2583 million and the payback period is 3 years
