  8. Use of renewable energy has already increased significantly. One of the renewable and suitable sources for replacement with fossil fuels is wind energy, especially wind turbines. But the design, construction, installation maintenance and operation of wind turbines are relatively expensive. One of the most expensive parts of a wind turbine is its gearbox. Wind turbines gearbox due to fluctuating loads unexpected is likely to suffer a premature fatigue. The purpose of this project is to calculate some of the oscillating loads applied to the gearbox and then to investigate the effect of these loads on the service life of the gearbox components. Tower shadow effect and wind shear effect are the reasons for the fluctuation of the input torsional torque in the wind turbine. The amount of torsional torque fluctuation in the sample turbine studied in this project is about 0.3% due to the wind shear effect and about 23% due to the tower shadow effect. The amount of torque oscillation decreases due to the flywheel effect on the blades with their large inertia and the amount of oscillation amplitude at the gearbox input reaches about 5%. The 5% fluctuation is a very small and has no significant effect on reducing the life of the gears except for the final stage pinion. The pinion of the last stage experiences a significant reduction in life due to the high rotation speed. The shafts are also designed for an infinite life with a safety factor of at least 2, so this small oscillation does not reduce the life of the shafts. Bearings also do not have a significant reduction in life
