  7. Abstract:
  8. Separation of particles and cells is one of the most important and practical methods in fields such as biomedicine, medicine and industry. In microfluidics There are various methods for particles and cells separation According to the source of them, they can be categorised as active and passive techniques. Active techniques rely on an external force field. The most important advantage of this method is controlling the force on the particles during the experiment. However, the flow speed is always limited because particles must be exposed to the outer force field for sufficient duration to achieve effective functionality. passive techniques depend entirely on the channel geometry or intrinsic hydrodynamic forces. The most important advantage of this method is extremely high throughput. The most important disadvantage of this method is the lack of control of the force on the particles during the experiment. Attempts to combine active and passive techniques in one microfluidic device have been reported in the past. In most of these reported works, the active and passive techniques are actually connected in series, where there is no coupling of physics.in this work we proposed DEP-inertial microfluidic device Which takes advantage of both active methods with high controllability and passive methods with high throughput at the same time. the channel used in this study is a symmetric serpentine that occupies less space than the straight channels and the particles are focused faster. To create a non-uniform electric field, a new microelectrode design has been used which, unlike conventional designs, moves particles in a horizontal direction. Also, a new method has been used to fabricate microelectrodes, which is more precision than conventional methods and is more economical. In the construction of the system, considering that the materials are new and there are no optimal points for them, so we have obtained these points with different conjectures and errors and examined its effect on the construction
