    Multiple human tracking using PHD filter in distributed camera network

    Abstract
    The Gaussian mixture probability hypothesis density (GM-PHD) filter is a closed form approximation of the multi-target Bayes filter which can overcome most multitarget tracking problems. Limited field of view, decreasing cost of cameras, and advances of using multi-camera induce us to use large-scale camera networks. In this paper, a multihuman tracking framework using the PHD filter in a distributed camera network is proposed. Each camera tracks objects locally with PHD filter and a track-after-detect scheme and its estimates of targets are sent to neighboring nodes.     Determining an object location in a specific region is an important task in many machine vision applications. Different parameters affect the accuracy of the localization process. The quantization process in charge-coupled device of a camera is one of the sources of error that causes estimation rather than identifying the exact position of the observed object. A cluster of points, in the field of view of a camera are mapped into a pixel. These points form an uncertainty region.     Abstract
    We report follow-up observations of 477 program Near-Earth Asteroids (NEAs) using nine telescopes of the EURONEAR network having apertures between 0.3 and 4.2 m. Adding these NEAs to our previous results we now count 739 program NEAs followed-up by the EURONEAR network since 2006. The targets were selected using EURONEAR planning tools focusing on high priority objects. Analyzing the resulting orbital improvements suggests astrometric follow-up is most important days to weeks after discovery, with recovery at a new opposition also valuable.     This study presents comprehensive studies on practical means to predict aerial-image motion blurs due to the flying vehicle dynamics, including flying altitude; cruising speed; and angular velocities and finally installed camera characteristics; such as, frame rate and image size. The resulting predictions of blur values are in-turn used to generate blurry images to be fed as input data for later use in a de-blurring-in-the-loop of a Mono-simultaneous localization and mapping system.     Abstract
    This paper proposes a global motion estimation method to remove unintentional camera motions which degrade the visual quality of image sequences. The proposed approach is based on combination of 2D Radon transform, 1D Fourier transform and 1D Scale transform which can accurately estimate scale, rotational and translational distortions of camera motion and is robust to internal moving objects.     Digital video stabilization is a category of techniques used to reduce the impact of unintentional camera motion such as jitter, jiggle, and other unsteady motions. These unintentional shakings degrade visual quality of videos and reduce the performance of subsequent processes such as video compression. As single view tracking may not be sufficiently robust and accurate, tracking based on multiple cameras has been widely considered in recent years. This paper presents a distributed human tracking method in a smart camera network and introduces a particle filter design based on Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) and color histogram.     Abstract
    Profile analysis tensiometry (PAT) is presently the most frequently used technique for measuring surface tensions of liquids. The basis of this methodology is however an equilibrium force balance as given by the Gauss-Laplace equation. Therefore, its application under dynamic conditions, i.e. for growing drops or bubbles, is questionable. We discuss the limits of the applicability of PAT under dynamic conditions by using a growing drop configuration equipped with a high speed video camera.     This work presents a complete framework of an integrated aerial virtual environment (IAVE), which could effectively help implementing MonoSLAM (single-camera simultaneous localization and mapping) on an aerial vehicle.
