Game-theoretic approach to mitigate packet dropping in wireless Ad-hoc networks

    , Article 2011 IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking Conference, CCNC'2011, 8 January 2011 through 11 January 2011, Las Vegas, NV ; 2011 , Pages 163-165 ; 9781424487905 (ISBN) Tootaghaj, D. Z ; Farhat, F ; Pakravan, M. R ; Aref, M. R ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Performance of routing is severely degraded when misbehaving nodes drop packets instead of properly forwarding them. In this paper, we propose a Game-Theoretic Adaptive Multipath Routing (GTAMR) protocol to detect and punish selfish or malicious nodes which try to drop information packets in routing phase and defend against collaborative attacks in which nodes try to disrupt communication or save their power. Our proposed algorithm outranks previous schemes because it is resilient against attacks in which more than one node coordinate their misbehavior and can be used in networks which wireless nodes use directional antennas. We then propose a game theoretic strategy, ERTFT, for nodes to...

By using factorial-based response-surface methodology, the optimum values of factors were obtained as 5.44, 10 μL and 300 s for D, E and F respectively. Under the optimized...

    Abstract
In this study, a novel, simple and sensitive ratiometric fluorescence method is presented for the detection of very low quantities of the carbaryl in Iranian apple using cadmium telluride quantum dots (CdTe QDs) nanoprobe. The principle of the proposed strategy relies on the rapid hydrolysis of the carbaryl under an alkaline condition and production of the 1-naphthol with a blue emission at 470 nm. Besides, using the CdTe QDs with a yellow emission at 580 nm, as a reference, improves the visual tracking of carbaryl through changes in color tonality. The herein described methodology is applied for enzyme-free visual detection of carbaryl with satisfactory results in the presence of other...

The ZnO nanorod-based biosensor exhibited linear behavior in the MMP-9 concentration range of 1–1000 ng/ml, which is a wider range than the available concentration ranges for most of the conventional methods. The biosensor sensitivity was 32.5 μA/(decade × cm2)...

    Abstract
Terahertz spectroscopy is a useful and an efficient method for detection of pure materials and also mixture compounds. In the present study the terahertz spectra of the α-lactose, high explosives RDX and also the binary mixture of mentioned materials has been obtained in the transition mode. The obtained spectra of the pure materials were in a very good agreement with literatures in the range of 0.1 to 1.5 terahertz. The spectra of mixture samples which show the specific fingerprint characters of each component, declare that terahertz spectroscopy can be used effectively for the detection of explosives and chemical compounds even in the mixture samples. © 2016 IEEE

    Abstract
Three-dimensional gold nanoelectrode ensembles (3D GNE) have proven to be promising nanoelectrodes by representing much higher sensitivity compared to both their 2D nanostructures and bulk counterparts. The sensitivity of 3D gold nanotubes (GNTs) fabricated through electrodeposition inside the pores of polycarbonate templates, was examined toward metronidazole (MTZ) as one of their pharmaceutical applications. The electrochemical behavior of MTZ at the 3D GNT-modified electrode was discussed in detail through cyclic voltammetry (CV) which suggested an irreversible reduction of nitro group to the corresponding hydroxylamine and a subsequently reversible redox peak for the corresponding...

    Abstract
Low accuracy, requirement of expensive instruments, derivatization and multi-step sample preparation, inconsistencies during the fabrication process, time-consuming procedures and utilization of eco-unfriendly chemicals are some limitations of various developed methods for detection of 4-methylimidazol (4-MeI). In-situ synthesis of CDs-chelated metals in the presence of the target analyte facilitates a kinetically fluorescence emission with no...
