, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Forooghi, Kimia (Author) ; Kia, Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this study, several new complexes of [Re(CO3)(DAB)X] (X= OTf, H2O) were synthesized. These complexes have a distorted octahedral arrangement, in which three carbonyl groups in facial geometry, a bidentate ligand of type 1,4- diazabutadiene (DAB) having different substitutions at the nitrogen position, and a trifluoromethanesulfonate ligand (OTf) or water, have been coordinated to the rhenium metal center. These complexes include [Re(CO)3(2,4-Me2DAB)(OTf)] (1), [Re(CO)3(2,4,6-Me3DAB)(H2O)]OTf (2), [Re(CO)3(2,6-isoDAB)(OTf)] (3) & [Re(CO)3(2,4-Me2DAB(Me))(H2O)]OTf (4). In order to characterize the geometric arrangement of these compounds, different kinds of spectroscopy methods include...

Study on Cation and Fullerene Recognition by OxNx-Aza Crown Macrocyclic Ligands

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Safar koopayeh, Barzin (Author) ; Ghanbari, Bahram (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this research, a new group of N2O2–azacrown macrocyclic ligands with different macroring size from 15 to 18 was synthesized using one-pot facile and high yield reaction. The products were characterized applying FT-IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopies as well as elemental analysis. The single crystal structure of 18-membered macrocyclic ligand was also determined by x-ray crystallography. The crystallographic data showed such strong inter-molecular hydrogen bonding which excluded their nitrogen-donor groups, and initial investigation with UV-Vis spectroscopy shows no intraction with [60]fullerene, despite of presence of these interacrtions in their parent macrocycles. The result of Job’s...

    Abstract
In this work, a new catalyst based on gold nanoparticles immobilized on magnetic GO (graphene oxide) has been introduced. A new ligand based on pyridine has been used to the functionalization of GO to design robust heterogeneous catalyst for reduction in a short time using a low amount of the catalyst. The prepared catalyst was employed in the synthesis of aromatic amines using various types of nitroarnes in water. This catalyst is readily prepared from available starting materials and also is a reusable catalyst having very good stability to air and moisture. The proposed procedure applied here can conduct the reactions under milder reactions. Finally, due to total removal of the...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Ganjali, Amir Reza (Author) ; Abdekhodaei, Mohammad Jafar (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Osteoarthritis has always been one of the most common diseases in middle age because it causes severe pain and inflammation in the joints of the body. Cartilage tissue does not have the ability to repair itself. For this reason, fabricating and designing the most efficient, least-expensive, and most convenient methods for the treatment of cartilage defects is always an important issue. Today, there are surgical and injectable methods to relieve pain and initiate the body's natural healing response. But due to the many disadvantages and limitations of these methods, tissue engineering science has turned to modifying these methods or providing new methods. One of these methods is the use of...

    Abstract
In this study designing and manufacturing of high-temperature fluidized bed reactor were performed. These reactors are based on the contact of fluid with solid particles and balancing the weight of the solid materials. In the manufactured reactor, reduction of manganese de oxide to manganese oxide was done by carbon monoxide produced from incomplete combustion. The most important parameters in the reduction rate are: bed temperature and reduction gas concentration. Materials were injected into the reactor under the pressure of 1.13 mmHg and temperature of 787 ℃ in the bed depth of 4 cm for 2 hours and then the product was removed. XRD patterns showed that the dominant phase in the product...

    Abstract
1- Mesoporous silica materials have been found to possess pore sizes ranging from 2 -10 nm alongside 2D-hexagonal and 3D-cubic structural features. The specific properties of nanoparticles of the mesoporous silica family, such as the collected size, porosity, morphology, and high chemical stability, make them among the best drug delivery systems and catalysts. Designing the catalysts with advanced structures that effectively locate the transition metals and create active centres onto the surfaces of mesoporous silica materials has attracted extraordinary attention. According to many studies, mesoporous silica materials without organic functional groups cannot be used as catalysts in chemical...

The molecular formula and structure of Lpy-naph and Lpy-benz were confirmed by...

Design and Synthesis of Novel Coumarin Derivatives as Quorum Sensing Inhibitors & Performing Click Chemistry Involving Lysozyme Protein and a Novel Synthetic Fluorecent Compound

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mansoori, Sirwan (Author) ; Kalhor, Hamid Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Quorum Sensing is a cell-to-cell communication pr°Cess depending on cell concentration. Communication among bacterial cells °Ccurs through small molecular signals called autoinducers. The consequences of quorum sensing include the activation of pathogenic properties and activation of the gene for biofilm formation. Biofilms are aggregations of bacteria that adhere to surfaces through extracellular polymeric substances. Bacteria in the biofilm phase are much more resistant to antimicrobial agents than their free-swimming counterparts (i.e. the bacteria in planktonic form). In this study, first a series of coumarin derivatives were synthesized; but due to low solubility of the synthesized...
