As noteworthy properties of amine aqueous solutions, the densities and viscosities of aqueous N-Methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) solutions and mixtures of MDEA with 2-Amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP), Diisopropanolamine (DIPA), Monoethanolamine (MEA), and Diethanolamine (DEA) were estimated under CO2 gas loading using Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS), Multi-Layer Perceptron Artificial Neural Network (MLPANN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Least Square Support Vector Machine (LSSVM). The density and viscosity were estimated as a function of temperature, CO2 loading, pressure, and molecular weight of mixtures. In this regard, the actual data points were collected from the...
Phase equilibrium modeling of semi-clathrate hydrates of the CO2+H2/CH4/N2+TBAB aqueous solution system, Article Petroleum Science and Technology ; Volume 35, Issue 15 , 2017 , Pages 1588-1594 ; 10916466 (ISSN) ; Soroush, E ; Roham, M ; Shahsavari, S ; Sharif University of Technology

In this study, the semi-clathrate hydrate dissociation pressure for the CO2+N2, CO2+H2, CO2+CH4, and pure CO2 systems in the presence of different concentrations of TBAB aqueous solutions is predicted using a strong machine learning technique of multi-layer perceptron neural network (MLP-NN). The developed model, with an overall correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.9961 and mean square error (MSE) of 5.96E−02, presented an excellent accuracy in prognosticating experimental data. A complete statistical evaluation performed to promise the strength and generality of the multi-layer perceptron artificial neural network (MLP-ANN). In addition, the applicability of the proposed network and quality of...

A metal organic framework (MOF) modified with amino group (NH2-UiO-66) was functionalized with glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) via ring opening reaction between the amine species in the framework and epoxy groups in GMA. The products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), and N2 adsorption–desorption measurements to monitor their textural properties before and after functionalization. The BET surface area, pore volume, and pore...
Process integration of membrane reactor for steam methane reforming for hydrogen separation with CO2 capture in power production by natural gas combined cycle, Article 9th International Conference on Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies, GHGT-9, Washington DC, 16 November 2008 through 20 November 2008 ; Volume 1, Issue 1 , 2009 , Pages 279-286 ; 18766102 (ISSN) ; Soltanieh, M ; US Department of Energy ; Sharif University of Technology
In this paper simulation results for integration of CO2 pre-combustion capture by steam methane reforming (SMR) in membrane reactors (MR) with natural gas fired combined cycle (NGCC) power plants are presented. The integrated combined cycle was simulated by GTPRO (Thermoflow) simulator along with the results from simulation of membrane reactor for SMR process developed in this work. The results show that the overall efficiency of the integrated combined cycles decreased due to the energy required for SMR process. On the other hand, by integration of MR in combined cycles, emissions of CO2 to the atmosphere can be avoided. © 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved

Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods are mostly based on different phenomena taking place at the interfaces between fluid–fluid and rock–fluid phases. Over the last decade, carbonated water injection (CWI) has been considered as one of the multi-objective EOR techniques to store CO2 in the hydrocarbon bearing formations as well as improving oil recovery efficiency. During CWI process, as the reservoir pressure declines, the dissolved CO2 in the oil phase evolves and gas nucleation phenomenon would occur. As a result, it can lead to oil saturation restoration and subsequently, oil displacement due to the hysteresis effect. At this condition, CO2 would act as in-situ dissolved gas into the oil...
Modeling of sorption enhanced steam methane reforming in an adiabatic packed bed reactor using various CO2 sorbents, Article Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering ; Volume 9, Issue 5 , 2021 ; 22133437 (ISSN) ; Abbas, S. A 1-D heterogeneous model of sorption-enhanced steam methane reforming (SE-SMR) process in a packed bed reactor consisting of nickel catalyst well mixed with CO2 sorbent particles is investigated for three types of common sorbents. The performance of SE-SMR process is studied under low medium pressure conditions (3 – 11 bar) to find the optimum operating conditions. Optimal CaO sorption corresponding to 82% CH4 conversion and 85% H2 purity is found at 900 K, 3 bar, 3.5 kgm−2s−1 and S/C of 3.0. In contrast, lithium zirconate (LZC) and hydrotalcite (HTC) sorbents exhibited best sorptions under the operating conditions of 773 K, 5 bar and S/C of 3 with CH4 conversion of 91.3% and 55.2%, and H2...
