    Abstract
    We present a nonlinear geometric approach to fault detection and isolation (FDI) in a grid-connected inverter system. Open-switch faults in inverter power transistors together with faults in grid voltages and source current sensors are detected and isolated in the presence of disturbance. The detection process is based on dynamic model of an inverter, including a dc-bus capacitor and an output $RL$ filter. The proposed FDI system does not rely on balanced or zero-sum conditions in the grid point and is functional under nonsinusoidal voltages and currents. © 1993-2012 IEEE

    Abstract
    The modified Claus process is characterized by several problems, namely poor instrumentation and no precise kinetic model for predicting the behaviour of the reactors. Using operational data of an industrial plant, this paper proposes a general framework for development of a plant-wide simulation model for modified Claus process based on simultaneous data reconciliation and parameter estimation (DRPE) using Genetic algorithm (GA). HYSYS as a commercial process simulator that provides a high-level of accuracy as well as redundancy which all is favoured for DRPE has been utilized in this work.     Abstract
    As a primary step of establishment of an extensive air shower array consisting 20 scintillation detectors we optimized an individual detector. Square shaped scintillators are placed under a metal pyramid Light Enclosure with a photomultiplier tube (PMT) at the vertex of it. A set of experiments are performed to optimize the height of light enclosures by comparing 4 different heights 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 m. These experiments are supported by a Monte Carlo simulation of detection process. In this article, by considering experimental and simulation results we concluded that 20 cm is an optimum height for light enclosures

    Abstract
    In this paper we present a novel approach for adjusting a multi band spectral subtraction filter coefficients based on speech recognition system results. Currently most speech enhancement techniques are designed according to various waveform level criteria such as maximizing SNR or minimizing signal error. However improvement in these criteria does not necessarily result in increasing speech recognition performance. Only if these methods generate sequence of features that maximize or increase the likelihood of the correct transcription relative to other incorrect competing hypotheses, speech recognition performance will increase.     Abstract
    In this paper, we introduce a new approach to fault detection and isolation for robot manipulators. Our technique is based on using a new simplified Euler-Lagrange (EL) equation that reduces complexity of the proposed fault detection method. The proposed approach isolates the faults and is capable of handling the uncertainty in manipulator gravity vector. It is shown that the effect of uncalibrated torque sensor measurement is asymptotically rejected in the detection process. A simulation example is presented to illustrate the results. © 2009 IEEE
