    Abstract
Effect of cathodic enzymatic decolorization of reactive blue 221 (RB221) on the performance of a dual-chamber microbial fuel cell (MFC) was investigated. Immobilized laccase on the surface of a modified graphite electrode was used in the cathode compartment in order to decolorize the azo dye and enhance the oxygen reduction reaction. First, methylene blue which is an electroactive polymer was electropolymerized on the surface of a graphite bar to prepare the modified electrode. Utilization of the modified electrode with no enzyme in the MFC increased the power density up to 57% due to the reduction of internal resistance from 1000 to 750 Ω. Using the electropolymerized-enzymatic cathode...

    Abstract
A new unbreakable solid phase microextraction (SPME) fiber coating based on aniline-silica nanocomposite was electrodeposited on a stainless steel wire. The electropolymerization process was carried out at a constant deposition potential, applied to the corresponding aqueous electrolyte containing aniline and silica nanoparticles. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images showed the non-smooth and the porous surface structure of the prepared nanocomposite. The applicability of the new fiber coating was examined by headspace-solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME) of some environmentally important polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), as model compounds, from aqueous samples....

The quantitative measurements were performed using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) in Britton-Robinson (BR) buffer solutions using 60% (v/v) acetonitrile-water (ACN/H2O) binary solvent. The effect of important parameters like pH, monomer...

    Abstract
In this paper, nano/microstructured-conducting polypyrrole has been prepared on Cu/Au interdigital electrode surfaces by using constant potential amperometry technique. The Fe(II) ions were used as catalyst and X = ClO4 -, pTs-, Cl-, TCA-, DS-, DBS- was implemented as anion dopants. The morphologies of the films were investigated by field emission scanning electron microscope. A remarkable dependence was observed between the type of anion dopant and the morphology of polypyrrole (PPy). The sensing behavior of the PPy-X sensor has been studied toward acetone, methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol, nitromethane, propylamine, pyridine, and gas mixtures of aliphatic alcohols. The responses...

    Abstract
In dye-sensitized solar cells recombination reactions at the TiO2 photoanode with the electrolyte interface plays a critical role in cell efficiency. Recombination of injected electrons in the TiO2 with acceptors in the electrolyte usually occurs on uncovered areas of TiO2 surfaces. In this work, we report electropolymerization of polymer films on nanoporous TiO2 electrode surfaces using an ionic liquid as the growth medium. The choice of ionic liquid as the growth medium for this study is based on the insolubility of dye N719 in this electrolyte, thus avoiding dye molecule detachment from the TiO2 photoanode surface over the entire potential range investigated during the...

    Abstract
The electrosynthesis of polypyrrole (PPy) film has been achieved on glassy carbon electrode (GCE) in aqueous medium of Congo red (CR) by means of cyclic voltammetry (CV). The modified electrode exhibits high electrocatalytic activity toward dopamine (DA) oxidation, with drastic enhancement of the reversibility and peak currents. This modified electrode, due to electrostatic interactions, is capable to mask the response of ascorbic acid (AA) completely and provide an effective method for the detection of minor amounts of dopamine in the presence of high concentrations of AA. The electrochemical response of the film modified electrode is strongly dependent to the switching potential applied in...
