, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Yasamani, Fatemeh (Author) ; Akbari Jokar, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Environmental problems and the consequent governmental regulations, has led supply chains into reverse and closed-loop supply chains. Application of problems such as "Vehicle Routing Problem” has diminished in the closed-loop supply chain, and instead of them, the problem of "Vehicle Routing Problem with Deliveries and Pickups" has become more important. On the other hand, tendency of supply chains to running information in the chain in a desired way, has led to grow the attention to establishing policies of “Vendor Managed Inventory". It seems that by tending the supply chains to closed-loop supply chains which are utilizing the policy of "Vendor Managed Inventory", application of problems...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Amir Hossein Golmohammadi (Author) ; Khodaygan, Saeed (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Additive manufacturing (AM), also known as Rapid prototyping or D printing, is a new technology for the manufacturing of the physical parts through an additive manner. In the AM process, the orientation pattern of the part is one of the most important factors that significantly affects the product properties such as the build time, the surface roughness, the mechanical strength, the wrinkling, and the amount of support material. The build time and the surface roughness are the more imperative criteria than others that can be considered to find the optimum orientation of parts. In this research, Two method is used to optimize part build orientation (PBO). In the first method a new combined...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Keivan Bahari, Mahsa (Author) ; Farahmand, Farzam (Supervisor) ; Movahhedy, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor) ; Rouhi, Gholamreza (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
Bones adapt their form and structure to make an efficient use of their mass against the applied mechanical loads. So, it is not surprising to assume that the geometry and density distribution of a bone contains information about its loading history. The objective of this work was to develop a framework to simulate the bone remodeling procedure as a topology optimization process and then use this framework to develop a simple technique for estimating the dominant joint loads based on the bone’s density distribution.
At first, the remodeling equation was derived from the structural optimization task of minimizing the strain energy in each time step, using the level set method. Employment...

Optimum Design Hybrid Energy Storage Systems in Electric Urban Rail Transport Systems

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Komijani, Abbas (Author) ; Zolghadri, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In the urban railway transportation system, large amount of power is consumed for starting the movement and acceleration. A great part of this energy is transformed to the train kinetic energy which in the case of break is reduced to zero. Thus recovering of train kinetic energy during the brake can help to reduce train energy consumption. One of the possible ways is using energy storage during the brake and using it again during acceleration. Storage can be performed in three kinds, fixed, mobile and hybrid. In this thesis, super capacitors have been investigated as fixed and mobile storages. After reviewing electrical railway transportation systems, elements of these systems have been...

A Numerical Approach for Determination of Soil Parameters by Pressuremeter Test

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Keshmiri, Ehsan (Author) ; Ahmadi, Mohammad Mehdi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In-situ tests are strongly recommended in site investigations, since laboratory studies are not sufficient for precise determination of soil parameters. Effects of soil disturbance on laboratory studies questions the validation of obtained soil parameters. In the in-situ tests, soil experience less disturbance and these tests are conducted in stress levels resembling to soil initial horizontal and vertical stresses. Also more volume of soil is tested by in-situ tests in comparison to laboratory studies. Pressuremeter instrument was invented by Menard (1954). In this test, a flexible cylinder is expanded in the cavity under fluid pressure and the volume and stress changes of the cavity are...

Numerical Modeling and Optimization of Cold and Hot Powder Forming Processes

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology keshavarz hadad , Shahriyar (Author) ; Khoei, Amir Reza (Supervisor) ; Khalo, Ali Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this thesis, a shape optimization technique is presented for powder forming processes based on the genetic algorithm approach. The numerical modeling of powder compaction simulation is applied based on a large deformation formulation, powder plasticity behavior, and frictional contact algorithm. A Lagrangian finite element formulation is employed for large powder deformations. A cap plasticity model is used in numerical simulation of nonlinear powder behavior. The influence of powder-tool friction is simulated by the use of penalty approach in which a plasticity theory of friction is incorporated to model sliding resistance at the powder-tool interface. For hot compaction process coupled...

This work should be done after reviewing the results of past researches and introduced methods. We will analyze the practicality of the proposed model using simulation and will show their advantages over the previous mentioned methods

Change Point Estimation of Multivariate Multiple Linear Profiles, under Multiple Linear Drifts and Step Changes

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Karimi, Samira (Author) ; Mahlooji, Hashem (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Control charts are the most popular Statistical Process Control tools used to monitor process changes. However, they are not capable of identifying the real time of a process change, which is essential for diagnosing assignable causes of the change. Therefore, a number of methods of change-point estimation have been developed. In the literature, relatively little study has been done on multiple changes. In this research, a new method based on Maximum Likelihood Estimator (MLE) is introduced to identify linear drifts and step changes in multivariate multiple linear profiles. Due to the massive increase in the amount and time of the calculations along with the growth of the number of the...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Karimi, Ahmad (Author) ; Rajabi, Abbas (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Distributed generation (DG) and its utilization have some benefits and risks for its owner and power network.
