Abstract
Development of simple yet precise sensing platforms for rapid determination of biological species and drugs is of paramount importance, not only for analysis of pharmaceutical formulations during the production stage, but also in clinical practices and medical diagnosis. In the present research, we report on the electrochemical determination of atorvastatin (ATOR) by using silver nanowires/gold-modified glassy carbon electrode (Ag NWs/Au/GCE). The modified electrode was constructed through a two-step procedure in which narrow silver nanowires synthesized via a polyol method are drop casted on a pre-modified GCE with electrodeposited gold particles. The results of XRD analysis indicated the...

Abstract
In this research, a novel, rapid, and non-immune electrochemical method was used to detect cardiac troponin I (cTnI) using a double recognition approach. Amine terminus cTnI aptamers immobilized on COOH-ZnO nanoparticles (COOH-ZnONPs) modified GCE surface were applied to capture cTnI for imprinting recognition. The COOH-ZnONPs were synthesized in a biological manner. Then, the methylene blue (MB) monomers were electro-polymerized around the cTnI-aptamer complexes. Following the removal of cTnI, cavities were constructed and converted to a new aptamer and molecular imprinted polymer (MIP) hybrid receptor (aptamer/MIP/ZnONPs). FT-IR spectra, SEM images, XRD patterns, and electrochemical...

Abstract
This work presents a novel melatonin sensor based on unfunctionalized macroporous graphene networks decorated with gold nanoparticles for the differential pulse voltammetric detection of melatonin in pharmaceutical products. Highly porous graphene structures were prepared by metallic template-assisted chemical vapor deposition, and their active surface area and electrocatalytic activity were improved by electrochemical deposition of gold nanoparticles (50-250 nm) on their struts. The graphene-gold electrodes present a highly sensitive performance toward electro-oxidation of melatonin with a wide linear range of 0.05-50 μM, a low detection limit of 0.0082 μM (3σ/m), and a significant...

Abstract
The planned design of nanocomposites combined with manageable production processes, which can offer controllability over the nanomaterial structure, promises the practical applications of functional nanomaterials. Hollow core-shell nanostructure architectures represent an emerging category of advanced functional nanomaterials, whose benefits derived from their notable properties may be hampered by complicated construction processes, especially in the sensing domain. In this regard, we designed a highly porous three-dimensional array of hierarchical hetero Cu(OH)2@CoNi-LDH core-shell nanotubes via a quick, very simple, green, and highly controllable three-step in situ method; they were...

Abstract
The direct growth of self-supported metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) thin film can be considered as an effective strategy for fabrication of the advanced modified electrodes in sensors and biosensor applications. However, most of the fabricated MOFs-based sensors suffer from some drawbacks such as time consuming for synthesis of MOF and electrode making, need of a binder or an additive layer, need of expensive equipment and use of hazardous solvents. Here, a novel free-standing MOFs-based modified electrode was fabricated by the rapid direct growth of MOFs on the surface of the glassy carbon electrode (GCE). In this method, direct growth of MOFs was occurred by the formation of vertically...

Abstract
In this work, a nanocomposite containing manganese dioxide (MnO2) modified reduced graphene oxide (rGO) supported bimetallic palladium-nickel (Pd-Ni) catalyst is prepared by electrodeposition method. The nanocomposite modifier film is prepared by forming a thin layer of graphene oxide (GO) via drop-casting of GO nanosheet dispersion on glassy carbon electrode (GCE), followed by electrochemical reduction of the film to provide rGO/GCE. Then, a two-step potential procedure is applied to deposit MnO2 nanoparticles on rGO/GCE. At the optimum deposition conditions, MnO2 nanoparticles with a thickness of 30-50 nm homogeneously covered the rGO surface (MnO2/rGO/GCE). Finally, the bimetallic Pd-Ni...

Abstract
In the present study, a 3D porous graphene-carbon nanotube (G-CNT) network is successfully constructed on the surface of glassy carbon electrode (GCE) by electrochemical co-deposition from a concentrated graphene dispersion. The large accessible surface area provided by the interpenetrated graphene backbone in one hand and the enhanced electrical conductivity of the 3D network by incorporating CNTs on the other hand, dramatically improved the electrochemical performance of GCE in determination of Methotrexate (MTX) as an important electroactive drug compound. Under the optimum conditions, the electrode modification led to a significant increase in the anodic peak current (∼25 times) along...

Abstract
Nickel-modified glassy carbon electrode (GC/Ni) prepared by galvanostatic deposition was used for the electrocatalytic oxidation of glucose in alkaline solutions where different electrochemical methods were employed. In cyclic voltammetry studies, in the presence of glucose an increase in the peak current of the oxidation of nickel hydroxide is followed by a decrease in the corresponding cathodic current. This suggests that the oxidation of glucose is being catalyzed through mediated electron transfer across the nickel hydroxide layer comprising nickel ions of various valence states. Under the chronoamperometric regime, the reaction followed a Cottrellian behavior and the diffusion...
