    Abstract
Multi-periodic inventory control problems are mainly studied by employing one of two assumptions. First, the continuous review, where depending on the inventory level, orders can happen at any time, and next the periodic review, where orders can only be placed at the beginning of each period. In this paper, we relax these assumptions and assume the times between two replenishments are independent random variables. For the problem at hand, the decision variables (the maximum inventory of several products) are of integer-type and there is a single space-constraint. While demands are treated as fuzzy numbers, a combination of back-order and lost-sales is considered for the shortages. We...

Developing a location-inventory model under fuzzy environment

    Abstract
Nowadays, location of distribution centers integrated with inventory or transportation decision play an important role in optimizing supply chain management. Location-inventory models analyze the location and inventory policies in distribution network, simultaneously. Developing location-inventory models under fuzzy environment can enrich the model, and this is our approach in this article. We consider the demand as a fuzzy variable and formulate the problem using credibility theory in order to locate distribution centers (DCs) as well as determining inventory levels in DCs. The derived model belongs to nonlinear mixed integer programming problems, and we presented a genetic algorithm to...

    Abstract
There are two main assumptions in multiperiodic inventory control problems. The first is the continuous review, where, depending on the inventory level, orders can happen at any time, and the other is the periodic review, where orders can only happen at the beginning of each period. In this paper, these assumptions are relaxed, and the periods between two replenishments are assumed independent and identically distributed random variables. Furthermore, the decision variables are assumed integer-type and that there are two kinds of space and budget constraints. The incremental discounts to purchase products are considered, and a combination of backorder and lost sales are taken into account...

Sole versus dual sourcing under order dependent lead times and prices

    , Article Computers and Operations Research ; Volume 36, Issue 12 , 2009 , Pages 3272-3280 ; 03050548 (ISSN) Sajadieh, M. S ; Eshghi, K ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In this paper, we consider a dual-sourcing model with constant demand and stochastic lead times. Two suppliers may be different in terms of purchasing prices and lead-time parameters. The ordering takes place when the inventory level depletes to a reorder level, and the order is split among two suppliers. Unlike previous works in the order splitting literature, the supply lead time between vendor and buyer as well as unit purchasing prices is considered to be order quantity dependent. The proposed model finds out the optimal reorder point, order quantity and splitting proportion, using a solution procedure. Numerical results show that neglecting the relationship between ordering batch size...
