    New Approaches for Solving Fuzzy LR Linear Systems and a Class of Fuzzy Location Problems

    By increasing complexity of systems, soft computing including fuzzy computing, evolutionary computing and intelligent computing, have been developing in recent years. Here, we focus on two subjects making use of soft computing. Firstly, we study fuzzy LR linear systems.
    We transform the fuzzy linear system into a corresponding linear crisp system and a constrained least squares model. We show that the fuzzy LR system has an exact solution if and only if the corresponding crisp system is compatible (has a solution) and the optimal value of the corresponding least squares problem is equal to zero. VBR traffic prediction is necessary in dynamic bandwidth allocation for multimedia quality of service control strategies. Autoregressive (AR) models have been widely used in VBR traffic prediction where the least mean square (LMS)-based methods were utilised for parameter estimation. However, they are ineffective when the traffic is dynamic in nature. In this study, using the Brock, Dechert, and Scheinkman (BDS) test, it is shown that the video traffic is non-linear. In real-time packet-based communication systems, one major problem is misrouted or delayed packets which results in degraded perceived voice quality. If packets are not available on time, the packet is known as lost packet. The easiest task of a network terminal receiver is to replace silence for the duration of lost speech segments.     Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry combined with iterative and non-iterative resolution methods was used to characterize the essential oil components of Iranian cumin and caraway. Orthogonal projection resolution (OPR) as a non-iterative and distance-selection-multivariate curve resolution-alternative least squares (DS-MCR-ALS) as an iterative method were used as auxiliary means to the analysis in the case of overlapping peaks. A total of 19 and 39 components were identified by direct similarity searches for cumin and caraway oils, respectively.
