Magnetoresistance due to domain wall bulging

    , Article Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials ; Volume 322, Issue 16 , August , 2010 , Pages 2401-2404 ; 03048853 (ISSN) Fathi, M. B ; Phirouznia, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    2010
    Abstract
The effect of bulging of domain wall (DW) on the magnetoresistance (MR) is investigated. With taking into account the auto-correlation between the points of the interface, one can formulate the mobility within the relaxation time approximation scheme. The results show that the bulging of DW, evaluated with the commonly accepted magnetic parameters for typical ferromagnetic materials of Co, Fe and Ni, has a countable role into the MR

Magnetic domain regime-controlled synthesis of nickel nano-particles by applying statistical experimental design in modified polyol process

    , Article Materials Chemistry and Physics ; Volume 168 , 2015 , Pages 117-121 ; 02540584 (ISSN) Delavari, H ; Madaah Hosseini, H. R ; Wolff, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier Ltd  2015
    Abstract
In this work, central composite design (CCD) as a statistical experimental design method is performed to prepare nickel nano-particle of different magnetic domain regimes by the modified polyol process. It is shown that not only the concentration of the different chemicals but also the injection rate is determining for the morphology and magnetic properties. The average diameter of the synthesized nickel NPs is smaller than the critical single domain size and thus the single domain or pseudo-single domain nickel nano-particles can be prepared based on Day's plot

Highly efficient absorber with enhanced magnetoelectric properties based on Y, Gd, and Pr doped NMZ nanoferrites

    Abstract
NMZ ferrites doped with rare earth having spinel composition Ni0.5Mn0.3Zn0.2X0.02Fe1.98O4, whereas X = Y, Pr and Gd were synthesized by sol gel auto-ignition method. XRD, FESEM, VSM and VNA were used to determine the phase, microstructural, magnetic and electromagnetic properties of rare earths doped NMZ ferrite. XRD analysis confirms the single phase of the rare earths doped NMZ ferrite. FESEM images shows Pr doped NMZ ferrite has less agglomerations and more porous structure as compared to NMZ and other rare earths doped NMZ ferrites. Magnetic analysis shows the enhancement in saturation magnetization and remanence with the doping of Y, Pr and Gd in NMZ ferrite. Dielectric properties were...

A three-dimensional constitutive model for magnetic shape memory alloys under magneto-mechanical loadings

    Abstract
This paper presents a three-dimensional phenomenological constitutive model for magnetic shape memory alloys (MSMAs), developed within the framework of irreversible continuum thermodynamics. To this end, a proper set of internal variables is introduced to reflect the microstructural consequences on the material macroscopic behavior. Moreover, a stress-dependent thermodynamic force threshold for variant reorientation is introduced which improves the model accuracy. Preassumed kinetic equations for magnetic domain volume fractions, decoupled equations for magnetization unit vectors and appropriate presentation of the limit function for martensite variant reorientation lead to a simple...

A new fuzzy connectedness relation for image segmentation

    Abstract
In the image segmentation field, traditional techniques do not completely meet the segmentation challenges mostly posed by inherently fuzzy images. Fuzzy connectedness and fuzzy clustering are considered as two well-known techniques for introducing fuzzy concepts to the problem of image segmentation. Fuzzy connectedness-based Segmentation methods consider spatial relation of image pixels by "hanging togetherness" a notion based on intensity homogeneity. But, they do not inherently utilize feature information of image pixels. On the other hand, as the segmentation domain of fuzzy clustering-based methods is the feature space they do not consider spatial relations among image pixels. Recently,...
