    Abstract
Supply chain management aims to increase customer satisfaction and satisfy demand with the lowest cost by establishing coordination and cooperation among the chain members. However, considerable concerns along supply chain management are reported from both academicians and practitioners. Security, visibility, transparency and traceability are the main challenges confronting supply chain management. The emerging technology named Blockchain is able to address the mentioned challenges by integrating with supply chain management. A prominent point to consider is that whether it is absolutely necessary to adopt blockchain technology in a system or not. If yes, how blockchain should be implemented...

    Abstract
One of the most important aspects of a successful space mission is the transition to the correct orbit and maintaining it. As a result, many modern orbit transfer techniques have been developed in space industry in order to accomplish this task in a more reliable and less expensive way. However, when it comes to the design of student satellites, usually there are serious limitations on the financial resources, technical database and satellite industry experts. These limitations may compromise the access to advanced methods and techniques. Therefore, reliability and expenses may no longer be the only criteria to be met in the process of design. As a result, at each step of the design, a...

    Abstract
This article introduces a methodology to integrate fuzzy multiattribute decision making (FMADM) and fuzzy simulation. According to this method, a fuzzy simulation method is applied to study the effect of different alternative on system's performance and decision criteria taking into account fuzzy inputs. Using a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP) and the results of fuzzy simulation, a FMADM is conducted to select the best alternative. This article introduces how to incorporate fuzzy set theory with discrete-event simulation in order to model uncertain activity duration in simulating a realworld system, especially when insufficient or no sample data are available. A case study is...

    Abstract
Security constrained Preventive Maintenance (PM) scheduling is addressed as a crucial issue especially coping with new challenges of smart grids. Under the smart grid environment, Demand Response Resources (DRRs) are considered as virtual power plants in energy policy decisions which affect the controllability of power system ranging from short-term to long-term. Here, DRRs are regarded as a virtual resource of capacity reserve acquisition. Furthermore, under new environment, multifarious objectives will be imposed to PM scheduling which can be replicated into a single objective problem via a weighted approach with consideration of arbitrary weighting coefficients. In this paper, a new...

Multi-Attribute decision making on Inter-Basin Water Transfer projects

    , Article Scientia Iranica ; Volume 16, Issue 1 E , 2009 , Pages 73-80 ; 10263098 (ISSN) Zarghami, M ; Szidarovszky, F ; Ardakanian, R ; Sharif University of Technology
    2009
    Abstract
One of the best ways to control water shortages in the central region of Iran is Inter-Basin Water Transfer (IBWT). Efficient decision making on this subject is, however, a real challenge for the water authorities in Iran. These decisions should include multiple attributes, model uncertainty and, also, the optimistic/pessimistic view of the decision makers. The Ordered Weighted Averaging (OWA) operator can be used as an efficient Multi-Attribute Decision Making (MADM) method. This paper will introduce a new method to obtain the order weights of this operator. The new method is based on a combination of fuzzy quantifiers and neat OWA operators. Fuzzy quantifiers are usually applied in soft...

    Abstract
Distributed Generation (DG) can help in reducing the cost of electricity to the customer, relieve network congestion, provide environmentally friendly energy close to load centers as well as promote system technical characteristics such as loss reduction, voltage profile enhancement, reserve mitigation and many other factors. Furthermore, its capacity is also scalable and it can provide voltage support at distribution level. The planning studies include penetration level and placement evaluation which are influenced directly by DG type. Most of the previous publications in this field chose one or two preferred parameter as basic objective and implement the optimizations in systems. But due...

    Abstract
This paper introduces how to incorporate fuzzy set theory with discrete-event simulation in order to model uncertain activity duration in simulating a real-world system, especially when insufficient or no sample data are available. A case study is developed to apply this method to select a scenario to implement the maintenance program in a constant work in process (CONWIP) system. The maintenance activities directly or indirectly affect on production system performance such as response time production costs and etc. so we used the fuzzy simulation to determine the maintenance affects on the system performance. Finally we used the fuzzy simulation result to develop a fuzzy multi attribute...

    Abstract
In this study, in order to create a decision-making model on water resources projects, a hierarchy of criteria has been developed by public participation. The Value Management methodology has been used for extraction of the effective criteria and attributes in the scope of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). The hierarchy is generic for water resources management in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Since the evaluations of alternatives with respect to some attributes are uncertain and vague, fuzzy set theory has been used. By merging fuzzy set theory and multi-attribute decision-making a new Decision Support System (DSS), namely FDM, has been developed to compare different...
