    Abstract
The development of a nonenzymatic glucose sensor working in real human body conditions through a noninvasive sampling approach has attracted considerable attention. Hence, this work focuses on the development of a new nonenzymatic glucose sensor based on flower-like Au nanostructures (F-AuNTs) and graphene oxide (GO) as a supporting matrix. The F-AuNTs-GO hybrid was synthesized by simple drop casting of the GO suspension onto the graphite sheet (GS) followed by electrodeposition of F-AuNTs on GO nanosheets at 3 V in a two-electrode system. The electrocatalytic activity of the F-AuNTs-GO/GS sensor toward glucose electrooxidation was initially evaluated in a 0.1 M buffer phosphate solution (pH...

    Abstract
Breast cancer is the most prevalent type of cancer in women; hence, many researches have been focused on developing effective treatment protocols. In this study, a novel nanocarrier was fabricated for gene and photothermal combination cancer therapy by conjugating histone methyltransferase complex subunit SET1 (hSET1) on reduced polydopamine coated graphene oxide nanosheets (rGO-PDA). The rGO-PDA nanocarriers provide higher near-infrared absorption and further integrating with hSET1 antisense as an anticancer gene that down-regulates the amount of hSET1 overexpressed and suppresses the proliferation of cancer cells. The nanoplatform was prepared by polymerizing of dopamine, a mussel adhesive...

Phase identification in the solder bulk and interface of the solder and copper substrate was carried out by X-ray diffraction and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Spreading properties and reactive wetting behavior along with the rheological properties of the solders were also studied. Results showed that the addition of both nanoparticles did not...

    Abstract
PEGylated MoS2 nanoflower (MoS2-NF) and nanosheet (MoS2-NS) are synthesized through a one-pot hydrothermal method as photo absorbing agent (PAA). It is found that employing different thiol precursors result in distinct morphologies. The products are structurally, chemically, and morphologically characterized. Electron microscopy demonstrates the formation of sheet and flower morphologies of MoS2. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and thermal gravimetric (TGA) analysis confirm the PEGylation of MoS2 nanostructures. Raman and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) confirm the formation of 1T/2H structure of both samples. MoS2-NS demonstrates higher NIR absorption than MoS2-NF with a mass...

    Abstract
Herein, the effect of electrodeposition time on the super-capacitive performance of three-dimensional (3D) MnO2/g-C3N4 heterostructured electrodes was investigated. The microstructural analysis, carried out by FE-SEM and TEM, confirmed the homogeneous distribution of MnO2 nanoparticles on g-C3N4 nano-sheet layers. The electrochemical capacitive performances of the MnO2/g-C3N4 electrodes were evaluated by cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge/discharge tests, and electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS). The obtained results suggested that the supercapacitor (SC) performance of all...

    Abstract
Flow sensors play a critical role in monitoring flow parameters, including rate, velocity, direction, and rotation frequency. In this paper, inspired by biological hair cells in the human vestibular system, an innovative flow sensor is developed based on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) hydrogel nanocomposites with a maze-like network of vertically grown graphene nanosheets (VGNs). The VGNs/PVA hydrogel absorbs a copious amount of water when immersed in water, making the sensor highly sensitive to tiny stimuli underwater. The sensor demonstrates a high sensitivity (5.755 mV (mm s−1)−1) and extremely low velocity detection (0.022 mm s−1). It also reveals outstanding performance in detecting...

On the theoretical and molecular dynamic methods for natural frequencies of multilayer graphene nanosheets incorporating nonlocality and interlayer shear effects

    , Article Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Structures ; Volume 29, Issue 20 , 2022 , Pages 2873-2883 ; 15376494 (ISSN) Nikfar, M ; Taati, E ; Asghari, M ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In this paper, a multiplate nonlocal shear model and molecular dynamic simulations are presented to investigate the effects of interlayer shear and nonlocality on the natural frequencies of multilayer graphene sheets (MLGSs). From one aspect in the optimal design of such structures, the interaction between graphene layers, which can significantly vary the static and dynamic behavior due to lack of solidity of layers stack, should be considered. On the other hand, it is requied that the nonlocality phenomenon which has an effective role in the mechanical analysis of nanostructures is taken into account. To this aim, the equation of motion along with corresponding boundary conditions is...

Low loaded MoS2/Carbon cloth as a highly efficient electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction

    , Article International Journal of Hydrogen Energy ; Volume 47, Issue 3 , 2022 , Pages 1579-1588 ; 03603199 (ISSN) Shaker, T ; Mehdipour, H ; Moshfegh, A. Z ; Sharif University of Technology
    Elsevier Ltd  2022
    Abstract
Active edge sites of MoS2 nanosheets exhibit promising futures for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), comparable with remarkable performances of highly cost platinum. However, 3D structures of MoS2 suffer from a lack of high mobility and unexposed active sites which lower the electrocatalytic activity. In this study, we show that there is a balance between increasing the active sites on the one hand and managing the charge transfer to facilitate the reaction on the other hand, and achieving this balance increases the efficiency of the electrocatalyst tremendously. For this purpose, we directly attached exfoliated MoS2 nanosheets onto carbon cloth (CC) substrate as a 3D network of conductive...

    Abstract
Viral diseases have long been among the biggest challenges for healthcare systems around the world. The recent Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is an example of how complicated the situation can get if we are not prepared to combat a viral outbreak in time, which brings up the need for quick and affordable biosensing platforms and vast knowledge of potential antiviral effects and drug/gene delivery opportunities. The same challenges have also existed for nonviral immunogenic disorders. Nanomedicine is considered a novel candidate for effectively overcoming these worldwide challenges. Among the versatile nanomaterials commonly used in biomedical applications, graphene has recently...

    Elsevier Ltd  2022
    Abstract
In this study, antibacterial activity, biocompatibility, and corrosion resistance of 316 LVM implants were improved using the development of HAp/GO/Ag nanocomposite coatings by the dip-coating method. The XRD and FTIR results confirmed the synthesis of HAp/GO/Ag nanocomposites. HAp/Ag nanoparticles (68 nm) bound to epoxy, hydroxyl, and carboxyl functional groups on GO sheets (size of GO sheets varies from 255 to 1480 nm) by electrostatic interaction. FESEM images showed that HAp/GO/Ag coatings had higher density and fewer micro-cracks than pure HAp coatings. In addition, HAp/GO/Ag coatings showed optimized nano-hardness (4.5 GPa) and elasticity modulus (123 GPa). The results of...

    Abstract
We present a procedure for simultaneous deposition of enzyme-laden chitosan/reduced graphene oxide (rGO) film by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) for fast and efficient detection of glucose. The role of rGO nanosheets is studied on the EPD kinetics of the enzyme-laden suspensions.
