    Abstract
Although Multi-Walled Carbon NanoTubes (MWCNTs) are found to influence the rheological behavior of drilling fluids, there are yet some controversies regarding their performance towards reducing formation damage induced by the invasion of water-based drilling fluids (WBFs). To address this important question, we synthesized novel nanocomposite materials via modifying the MWCNT via varying the proportion of carboxylated MWCNTs to PolyVinyl Alcohol (PVA). These nanocomposites were then used to make nano-based drilling-fluids (NDFs). The performance of the NDFs was evaluated by a set of rheological behavior tests, filtration experiments, and core-scale mud flow tests. To distinguish between the...

    Abstract
In this paper, the impacts of Maxwell nanoliquid transmission, rectangular with titanium oxide nanoparticles are explored over the triangular, chamfer blades. The innovation of this paper is the use of the number of chamfers, rectangular, and triangular blades at the top and bottom of a stretched plate to study physical nanofluid parameters such as temperature and the effects of magnetism. Also, by determining the appropriate height and length for the blades, we achieve the best optimization of temperature and velocity of nanofluid between the plate and the blades, which improves heat transfer and with a more and better effect of magnetic effects. The finite element method is utilized for...

    Abstract
Despite the fact that solid–liquid phase change materials (PCMs) have various applications in thermal energy storage systems, the low solidification rate of PCMs, which is due to the low thermal conductivity has limited the range of applications of PCMs. One of the methods of increasing the solidification rate of PCMs is using a boiling fluid as an intermediary between the solid–liquid PCM and the condenser to prevent the direct contact between the phase change material and the condenser tubes, this method is also known as the intermediate boiling fluid (IBF) method. The IBF method has been shown to significantly increase the solidification rate (2 orders of magnitude). In this study, the...

    Abstract
Correlations between electrical and thermal conduction in polymer composites are blurred due to the complex contribution of charge and heat carriers at the nanoscale junctions of filler particles. Conflicting reports on the lack or existence of thermal percolation in polymer composites have made it the subject of great controversy for decades. Here, we develop a generalized percolation framework that describes both electrical and thermal conductivity within a remarkably wide range of filler-to-matrix conductivity ratios (Y f / Y m), covering 20 orders of magnitude. Our unified theory provides a genuine classification of electrical conductivity with typical Y f / Y m ≥ 10 10 as...

    Abstract
Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) emit near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence that is ideal for optical sensing. However, the low quantum yields diminish the sensor's signal-to-noise ratio and limits the penetration depths for in vivo measurements. In this study, we perform a systematic investigation of the plasmonic effects of Ag and Au nanoparticles of various geometries to tune and even enhance the fluorescence intensity of single-stranded DNA-wrapped SWCNTs (ssDNA-SWCNTs). We observe a chirality-dependent NIR fluorescence enhancement that varies with both nanoparticle shape and material, with Au nanorods increasing (7, 5) and (7, 6) chirality emissions by 80% and 60% and Ag nanotriangles...

    Abstract
TiO2 nanotubes (TNTs) were synthesized hydrothermally and modified by Cu2O using a sol-gel method to provide photocatalytic activity in visible light. Cellulose nanofiber (CNF)-based films were prepared by adding TiO2, TNTs, and Cu2O-modified TNT (TNT-Cu2O). The TiO2-based nanoparticles (TiO2, TNTs, and TNT-Cu2O) were uniformly distributed in the base polymer to make compatible and flexible films. The incorporation of nanoparticles significantly enhanced the UV-shielding properties of the film while slightly decreasing the transparency. Incorporating nanofillers improved the film's mechanical and water resistance properties depending on the nanoparticle type. The TNT-Cu2O-added CNF film...

    Abstract
For many years, it has been a significant concern for nanoscience researchers to synthesize nanomachines with steerable motion. Despite the notable number of studies on the motion of nanocars on a surface, the motion characteristics of carbon nanotubes received less attention. Remarkable features such as symmetry, strength, and stiffness made carbon nanotubes (CNTs) a proper option as wheels in the nanocars. In this paper, for the first time, the motion of carbon nanotube on a gold substrate and its advantages over previous wheels such as fullerene and p-carborane are investigated. We demonstrate that contrary to the other wheels, CNT moves in a directed path, making them an ideal option as...
