, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Fayyaz Heydari, Amir (Author) ; Abbaspour Tehranifard, Ali (Supervisor) ; Fotuhi Firuzabad, Mahmud (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
Till today types of demand response program have been identified as one of the most effective and usefull programs in order to the energy efficient consumption and followed by, improving the network's reliability. Also some of these plans have reduced the risk of the retailers and as much as possible prevent the likely loss of these companies at the high energy tariffs times. The required for doing some of these types of plans is investing on various parts like infrastructure mutual relationships between retailers and customer and also smart meters which will require valuation. Till now so many various ways have been done for valuation on types of demand response program plans. This thesis...

The Effect of Social Security on Retirement Decision in Iran

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Khosroshahi, Amir Reza (Author) ; Nili, Masoud (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The main question of this thesis is if and to what extent does the Social Security retirement benefits cause early retirement. This is important because the more individuals are willing to retire earlier, the larger are the Social Security liabilities to pay the retirement benefts, and also it means that more people are leaving the labor force, hence a lower labor force participation. The research was conducted on a sample of men extracted from the Social Security Or-ganization data sets, employing Option Value and Peak Value models to estiamte a binary choice model. The results indicate that Social Security (in the form of retirement benefits) have a significant effect on retirement ...

The Impact of Pension Benefits on The Retirement Age of Oil Industry Employees

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Hajisadegh, Mohammad Hamed (Author) ; Vesal, Mohammad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
How does retirement plane affect retirement decision? This paper uses the data of 24,000 retirees of oil industry of Iran between 1996 and 2016 to answer the question. We calculate Accrual, Option Value, and Peak Value to evaluate retirement behavior. These variables calculate the difference between utility of retirement in the current year and some time in the future. Theoretically we expect that higher values in these variables lower the probability of retirement. We use two types of probabilistic models, linear and non-linear. In the linear model we run a pooled OLS and in the non-linear model we use a Probit model to estimate the effect of the variables above on the retirement...

An Oligopoly Model for Studying Equilibrum Strategy of Seasonal Goods Dynamic Pricing in Competitive Market with Demand Uncertainty

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Fadavi, Niloofar (Author) ; Kianfar, Farhad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
This paper studies sub game perfect Nash equilibrium of a price competition in an oligopoly market with perishable assets. Sellers each has one unit of a good that cannot be replenished, and they compete in setting prices to sell their good over a finite sales horizon. Buyers each demand one unit of the good in each period and the number of buyers coming to the market in each period is random. All sellers’ prices are accessible for buyers, and search is costless. Using stochastic dynamic programming methods, the best response of sellers can be obtained from a one-shot price competition game regarding remained periods and the current-time demand structure. Assuming a binary demand model, we...
