    Pyrrole was electro-polymerized on the surface of the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) coated with a thin film of carbon nanomaterials, including carbon nanotubes (CNTs), carbon nanoparticles (CNPs), nanodiamond-graphite (NDG) or graphite nanopowder (GNP). Morphology, thickness, stability and loading of the polypyrrole (PPY) film were significantly affected by the structure and morphology of the sub-layer of carbon nanomaterials.     The so-called enriched weight functions (EWFs) are utilized in mesh-free methods (MMs) to solve linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) problems; the following issues are of concern: convergence behavior; sufficiency of EWFs to capture singular fields around the crack-tip; and the preservation of the J-integral path-independency. EWFs prove useful in conjunction with the moving least square reproducing kernel method (MLSRKM); for this purpose, both EWFs and MLSRKM are modified.     A comprehensive procedure for characterizing arbitrary azimuthally symmetric photon beams

    Purpose: A new Monte Carlo (MC) source model (SM) has been developed for azimuthally symmetric photon beams. Methods: The MC simulation tallied phase space file (PSF) is divided into two categories depending on the relationship of the particle track line to the beam central axis: multiple point source (MPS) and spatial mesh based surface source (SMBSS). To validate this SM, MCNPX2.6 was used to generate two PSFs for a 6MV photon beam from a Varian 2100C/D linear accelerator. Results: PDDs and profiles were calculated using the SM and original PSF for different field sizes from 5×5 to 40×40cm2.     This paper presents vibration and buckling analysis of functionally graded beams with different boundary conditions, using reproducing kernel particle method (RKPM). Vibration of simple Euler-Bernoulli beam using RKPM is already developed and reported in the literature. Modeling of FGM beams using theoretical method or finite element technique is not evolved with accurate results for power law form of FGM with large power of "n" value so far.     A novel high-throughput device based on 96-micro-solid phase extraction (96-μ-SPE) system was constructed for multiresidue determination of nine pesticides in aquatic samples. The extraction procedure was performed on a commercially available 96-well plate system. The extraction module consisted of 96 pieces of 1cm×3cm of cylindrically shaped stainless steel meshes.     Abstract
    In this study, a nonlinear poroelastic model of intervertebral disc as an infrastructure was developed. Moreover, a new element was defined consisting a disc (Viscoelastic Euler Beam Element) and a vertebra (Rigid Link) as a unit element. Using the new element, three different viscoelastic finite element models were prepared for lumbar motion segment (L4/L5). Prolonged loading (short-term and long-term creep) and cyclic loading were applied to the models and the results were compared with results of in vivo tests. Simplification of the models by using the new element leads to reduction of the runtime of the models in dynamic analyses to few minutes without losing the accuracy in the results

    Design and operation of an opto-mechanical system employing a double-cell is reported here for the color liquid reflection studies. The reported system consists of a double-fiber optical design and an electro-mechanical scanning system. In this arrangement one fiber transmits the source light to the object surface and the second one transmits the light reflected from the sample to a photodetector. By scanning the double-fiber assembly in one-direction reflection properties of different color liquids are investigated.
