    Deployment of renewable energies for the electricity generation is on the rise around the world, among which is the run-of-the-river (ROR) power plant whose output power is variable throughout the year depending on the water flow of the respective river. The inherent uncertainty associated with renewable energy resources calls for new stochastic modeling approaches to measure the impacts of using these energies on the power system performance.     On-line micro solid-phase extraction of clodinafop propargyl from water, soil and wheat samples using electrospun polyamide nanofibers

    An on-line extraction/determination set up was designed for micro solid-phase extraction of clodinafop propargyl from water, soil and wheat samples using electrospun polyamide nanofiber mats. The prepared mats were packed in a stainless steel tube which conveniently acted as a high-performance liquid chromatography injection loop. Influential parameters affecting the extraction efficiency were optimized using a distilled water sample fortified with 25 μg L-1 of clodinafop propargyl. An enrichment factor of 440 was achieved for clodinafop propargyl indicating the ability of the whole procedure.     A novel high-throughput device based on 96-micro-solid phase extraction (96-μ-SPE) system was constructed for multiresidue determination of nine pesticides in aquatic samples. The extraction procedure was performed on a commercially available 96-well plate system. The extraction module consisted of 96 pieces of 1cm×3cm of cylindrically shaped stainless steel meshes.     Abstract
    This Regular evaluation and analysis of river quality helps accurate management to reach acceptable quality. In this study, water quality indices (WQI) method applied to evaluate quality of Jajrood River which is one of the main sources of Tehran drinking water. It helps to subsidize management actions in Jajrood watershed. Sampling carried out for 9 years during 2001-2010 in 10 stations along the river in wet and dry stations to identify water quality and the main source of pollution.     A three-dimensio111nal boundary element solution for the seepage analysis in multi-domain general anisotropic media has been developed based on the transformation approach. Using analytical eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the hydraulic conductivity tensor, a closed-form coordinate transformation matrix has been provided to transform the quadratic form of governing equation of seepage for the general anisotropic media to the Laplace equation.     This paper addresses the impacts of climate change on hydrology and water resources in the Karkheh River Basin (KRB), which is the third most productive basin in Iran and has great potential for hydropower generation. The total potential capacity of reservoirs in this basin is more than 15 ×109 Mm3, of which 40% has been built. The sensitivity of the KRB to potential climate change is investigated by simulating basin streamflow response under different climate change scenarios. A conceptual rainfall-runoff model (IHACRES) was first calibrated by using hydrological and streamflow observations.     Accurate estimation of scour depth is needed for economic and safe determination of bridge pier foundation depth. Most design criteria are based on maximum scour depth due to the steady design discharge without flow time limit. In this paper, the results are presented of an experimental investigation on local scouring around a single bridge pier under steady and unsteady flow regimes. For unsteady flow, triangular shape hydrographs with repeatable peaks have been chosen. Results show that both sharp and flat increases to the peak of hydrographs have a negligible effect on scour depth for the same base time.     The Karkheh River Basin is one of the Iranian river basins with a high potential for hydropower production. While Iran is actively constructing large dams in the Basin for hydropower production, climate change is putting the future status of hydropower production in the Basin in question. Using MODSIM, sensitivity of the Basin to climate change is investigated by estimating stream flow changes and the resulting impacts on hydropower production for different climate change scenarios.     In the present paper, the seismic response of an arch dam subjected to spatial variation of ground motions along the interface with its foundations is investigated. Recorded ground accelerations at the dam foundation interface of an arch dam were used for the purpose of this investigation. Topographic amplification between various points of the interface was studied by obtaining ratios of the response spectral displacement and spectral pseudo acceleration.     In this study Active Learning Method (ALM) as a novel fuzzy modeling approach is compared with optimized Support Vector Machine (SVM) using simple Genetic Algorithm (GA), as a well known datadriven model for long term simulation of daily streamflow in Karoon River. The daily discharge data from 1991 to 1996 and from 1996 to 1999 were utilized for training and testing of the models, respectively. Values of the Nash-Sutcliffe, Bias, R 2, MPAE and PTVE of ALM model with 16 fuzzy rules were 0.81, 5.5 m 3 s -1, 0.81, 12.9%, and 1.9%, respectively.
