    Abstract
    Nowadays, one of the major challenges in the oil and gas industry is sand production, which creates many problems and can complicate the oil and gas production process, so modeling sand production and using models to estimate the start of sand production and also the amount of sand produced can help a lot in the proper management of the reservoir.In this study, first, how to obtain the critical wellbore pressure using the Mohr-coulomb failure criteria and also the Mogi-coulomb failure criteria in different cases, it is explained, that knowing the critical wellbore pressure can be helpful in estimating the start of sand production.     Reservoir permeability is an important parameter that its reliable prediction is necessary for reservoir performance assessment and management.     Abstract
    In this study, a coupled numerical approach based on Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) and Discrete Element Method (DEM) is employed for two-dimensional simulation of fluid flow in deformable particulate media comprising of movable circular particles. The developed LB-DE code is validated against the results of a bi-axial shear test as well as two well-known benchmark problems including settling of a circular particle under gravity force inside a viscous fluid, and motion of a neutrally buoyant particle released in a Poiseuille flow.
