    Designing best effort networks-on-chip to meet hard latency constraints

    Abstract
    Many classes of applications require Quality of Service (QoS) guarantees from the system interconnect. In Networks-on-Chip (NoC) QoS guarantees usually translate into bandwidth and latency constraints for the traffic flows and require hardware support in the NoC fabric and its interfaces. In this article we present a novel NoC synthesis framework to automatically build networks that meet hard latency constraints of end-to-end traffic streams without requiring specialized hardware for the network components.     By examination of the exerted electromagnetic (EM) force on boundary of an object in a few examples, we look into the compatibility of the stress tensors corresponding to different formulas of the EM force density with special relativity. Ampere-Lorentz's formula of the EM force density is physically justifiable in that the electric field and the magnetic flux density act on the densities of the total charges and the total currents, unlike Minkowski's formula which completely excludes the densities of the bounded charges and the bounded currents inside homogeneous media.     Special Lagrangian sub-manifolds of Calabi-Yau (CY) 3-folds are used to describe membrane instanton solutions of N = 1, 11-dimensional super-gravity theories. Super-symmetry is the essential ingredient that relates super-gravity branes to special Lagrangian sub-manifolds [K. Becker, M. Becker and A.     Abstract
    How a proposed quantum nonlocal phenomenon could be incompatible with the requirements of special relativity is studied. To show this, the least set of assumptions about the formalism and the interpretation of non-relativistic quantum theory is considered. Then, without any reference to the collapse assumption or any other stochastic processes, an experiment is proposed, involving two quantum systems, that interacted at an arbitrary time, with results which seem to be in conflict with requirements of special relativity

    A large number of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) security schemes have been proposed in the literature, relying primarily on symmetric key cryptography. To enable those, Random Key pre-Distribution (RKD) systems have been widely accepted. However, WSN nodes are vulnerable to physical compromise. Capturing one or more nodes operating with RKD would give the adversary keys to compromise communication of other benign nodes. Thus the challenge is to enhance resilience of WSN to node capture, while maintaining the flexibility and low-cost features of RKD.     knowing the time of a process change would simplify the search, identification, and removal of the special causes that disturbed the process. Since, in many real world manufacturing systems, the production of goods comprises several autocorrelated stages; in this paper, the problem of the change point estimation for such processes is addressed. A first order autoregressive model (AR(1)) is used to model a multistage process observations, where a X -chart is established for monitoring its mean.     There are different ways in order to achieve higher velocity in underwater vehicles. One of these methods is using a body with special form. This paper presents a towing tank based experimental study on drag forces for different Reynolds Numbers of a special underwater model. This paper investigates drag force and drag coefficient in a different flow direction over the model. Obtained experimental results in towing tank are explained.     The field-emission properties of molybdenum oxide nanowires grown on a silicon substrate and its emission performance in various vacuum gaps are reported in this article. A new kind of molybdenum oxides named nanowires with nanoscale protrusions on their surfaces were grown by thermal vapor deposition with a length of ~1 μm and an average diameter of ~50 nm.     Although technological specialization has been recognized as a stimulating factor of international trade (Ricardian theory), new approaches emphasize the endogeneity of technological heterogeneity across countries. Following them, we proceed to examine the effect of free trade on technological differences among 20 OECD members during 1996-2008. We first use the model of Eaton and Kortum (2002) to obtain an annual estimate of technological heterogeneity within the OECD group.     Performance of a haptic device is evaluated based on the concept of transparency which indicates the match between the impedance transmitted to the user and the target virtual impedance. Stability of a haptic device prevalently has been evaluated based on the passivity criterion. Due to conservativeness of passivity, it appears as an obstacle to improve transparency.
