    Abstract
Pulse-potential coelectrodeposition of reduced graphene oxide/zinc (rGO-Zn) nanocomposite coating is directly controlled upon a steel substrate from a one-pot aqueous mixture containing [GO-/Zn2+]δ+ nanoclusters. GO nanosheets are synthesized by modified Hummer's approach while Zn cations are produced in the solution and deposited on GO nanosheets using anodic dissolution technique. Eventually, nanoclusters are reduced to rGO-Zn film through an electrochemical process. Chemical composition, surface morphology, and corrosion resistance of the thin film are characterized. Results show that the corrosion resistance of rGO-Zn coating is approximately 10 times more than the bare steel. © 2018 S....

    Abstract
Tolyltriazole (TTA) is a well-defined corrosion inhibitor for copper and copper alloys. However, there is little literature about its corrosion inhibition performance for mild steels in corrosive environments. This paper studied the electrochemical behavior of TTA in 0.5 M HCl solutions. Also, the morphology and nature of TTA layers on the steel surface were investigated. Electrochemical results showed that TTA is an excellent corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in acidic media with an efficiency of 91% for 0.07 M concentration. The results also indicated that TTA is a mixed-type inhibitor. XRD analysis revealed that the inhibition mechanism of TTA is based on the formation of an organic film...

    Abstract
Effects of post weld heat treatment (PWHT) on mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of NiTi shape memory wire, laser welded to the 304 stainless steel wire were investigated. The results showed that PWHT at 200 °C increased corrosion resistance and tensile strength of the joint up to ~1.8 times that of the as-weld joint, with no heat treatment. On the contrary, precipitation of neoteric intermetallic compounds like Fe2Ti, Cr2Ti, FeNi, Ni3Ti, and Ti2Ni in the welded region deteriorated these properties, when PWHT was conducted at 400 °C. Due to the vital effects of the PWHT performed after the laser welding, careful control of the PWHT temperature was found to be a prerequisite for...

Fabrication of aluminum nitride coatings by electrophoretic deposition: Effect of particle size on deposition and drying behavior

    , Article Ceramics International ; Volume 37, Issue 1 , 2011 , Pages 313-319 ; 02728842 (ISSN) Abdoli, H ; Zarabian, M ; Alizadeh, P ; Sadrnezhaad, S. K ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Electrophoretic technique was used to deposit micro- and nano-sized aluminum nitride coatings on stainless steel surfaces by using a well-dispersed stable suspension produced by addition of AlN powder plus a small amount of iodine to ethanol. Parabolic regime governed the deposition. Electrophoretic deposition for 240 s at 100 V resulted in formation of a uniformly dense film on the top, but a porous inhomogeneous layer at the bottom. This was attributed to fast deposition of coarse particles and/or agglomerates at large electric fields. After drying, micro-sized particles led to a uniform crack-free interface while nano-particles resulted in fragmented non-cohesive layers. Weight loss...
