    Abstract
The elastic behavior of an edge dislocation placed in the shell of a free-standing core-shell nanowire is considered within the theory of surface/interface elasticity. Using the method of complex potential functions the expressions for the stress field of the dislocation, image forces on the dislocation, and the dislocation strain energy are derived and studied in detail. A special attention is paid to non-classical effects revealed within the surface/interface elasticity approach where a characteristic length parameter referred to as surface/interface modulus is introduced. These effects are (i) the stress oscillations along the shell surface and core-shell interface for negative values of...

    Abstract
Gas porosities and Fe-rich phases and entrapped double oxide films (hereafter: oxides) are known to be the most detrimental defects in cast Al-Si-Mg alloys. The effects of H (gas porosities) and Fe (Β-Al5FeSi phase) on reproducibility of tensile properties in Al-7Si-0.35Mg alloy have been investigated in this study. Four different casting conditions (Low H-Low Fe, Low H-High Fe, High H-Low Fe and High H-High Fe) were studied. In each case, 30 tensile test samples were prepared by casting in a metallic mold and machining (total of 120 tensile test samples). Results of tensile test were analyzed by Weibull three-parameter analyses. The microstructures of samples were studied by optical...

    Abstract
In the present study, the effect of the number of stages of Tesla Micro-Valve (TMV), as well as the dependency of Reynolds number, Re, on the valve performance has been analyzed. For this purpose, different layouts include one to four-stage with different sizes are investigated numerically. The main criterion for evaluation of valves performance is diodicity, Di. Unsteady and steady flow in valve have been simulated and compared. It is shown that although there are some difference but the trend is similar for both responses. Finally, 2-D and steady state computations of the fluid flow have been utilized that reveal a strong dependence of Di on Re and pressure drop, ΔP. The results showed...
