    Abstract
    An algorithm for determining optimal reserve capacity in a power market is presented in this paper. Optimization process in the proposed algorithm is based on the cost-benefit trade off. Market clearance is executed with consideration of uncertainties of power system components in an aggregated environment. It is assumed that both generating units and interruptible loads participate in the reserve market. In addition, customers' reliability requirements are considered as constraints for decision making process of ISO.     The present paper focuses on medium-term effects of alternative windfall management strategies for a resource abundant country where the resource revenues are expected to last over a prolonged period. In particular, the trade-off between spending and saving is analyzed within the framework of a recursive dynamic computable general equilibrium model. The model is further validated against historical data available for 2001-2010. The total factor productivity is calculated endogenously in the model based on a function that reflects the changes in factor productivity.     In this paper sustainability analysis (exergy, environmental and economic) and multi-objective optimization for an aromatic plant are provided and interactions between decision variables are discussed. Environmental evaluation shows that the cancer human toxicity and global warming are the most important environmental concerns and the weight of EIs (environmental impacts) are mainly due to process wastes.     The overall design of cold gas propulsion systems is pretty complicated when considering the mission requirements, operating constraints and functional limitations imposed by the mechanical components. To address this complication, a precise design process is proposed, which attempts to optimize the cost of operation as well as to minimize the waste volume and weight by using multi-objective trade-off analysis.     Over the last decades quota violations have become a norm for OPEC countries. However, the academic literature on OPEC focuses more on its production behavior than on analyzing the quota allocation process or characterizing quota violation patterns. This paper offers a theoretical model with empirical evidence to explain OPEC members’ incentives for abiding or violating quotas. We first offer a cartel model with a quota allocation rule and an endogenous capacity choice.
