Multi-objective trade-off analysis of an integrated cold gas propulsion system

    , Article Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering ; Volume 227, Issue 8 , 2013 , Pages 1233-1250 ; 09544100 (ISSN) Banazadeh, A ; Gol, H. A ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
The overall design of cold gas propulsion systems is pretty complicated when considering the mission requirements, operating constraints and functional limitations imposed by the mechanical components. To address this complication, a precise design process is proposed, which attempts to optimize the cost of operation as well as to minimize the waste volume and weight by using multi-objective trade-off analysis. This analysis is based on a set of ordinary differential equations that are solved iteratively to describe the optimal behavior of the system. Therefore, a numerical code is being developed to give insight on the design sensitivity with respect to uncertainties on the design...

Implementation-aware model analysis: The case of buffer-throughput tradeoff in streaming applications

    Abstract
Models of computation abstract away a number of implementation details in favor of well-defined semantics. While this has unquestionable benefits, we argue that analysis of models solely based on operational semantics (implementationoblivious analysis) is unfit to drive implementation design space exploration. Specifically, we study the tradeoff between buffer size and streaming throughput in applications modeled as synchronous data flow (SDF) graphs. We demonstrate the inherent inaccuracy of implementationoblivious approach, which only considers SDF operational semantic. We propose a rigorous transformation, which equips the state of the art buffer-throughput tradeoff analysis technique...

A heuristic trade off model for integration of distributed generations in deregulated power systems considering technical, economical and environmental issues

    Abstract
With the introduction of restructuring concepts to traditional power systems, a great deal of attention is given to the utilization of distributed generation. Since the integration of DG units has been known as an alternative for main grid as a resource for energy supply, the determination of optimal sizing and sitting is an important issue in the planning procedure of DG. This work presents a comprehensive multi-objective model for integration of distributed generations into a distribution network, regarding various technical, economical and environmental issues such as reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and investment & running costs while the bus voltages shall be kept within...
