    Abstract
In recent years, indirect methods of cancer detection that utilize changes in trace element levels in various parts of the body, such as hair and nails, have garnered significant attention from researchers. The primary objective of these methods is to identify alterations in trace element levels that serve as biological markers in the presence of disease. While direct examination of affected organs remains the gold standard for cancer diagnosis, it is often expensive, time-consuming, inconvenient, and associated with potential side effects. Therefore, if the effectiveness of this approach is validated, it could serve as a cost-effective, non-invasive, safe, and early diagnostic method in...

Determination of Optimum Material and Thickness of Filter Based on Radiation Energy in Digital Industrial Radiography (CR) Using MCNP Monte Carlo Simulation Code

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Haghizadeh, Cyrus (Author) ; Vosoughi, Naser (Supervisor) ; Rokrok, Behrouz (Supervisor) ; Movafeghi, Amir (Co-Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this study, the effect of external filter on the various parameters of image quality in digital industrial radiography by CR method for steel and aluminum piece has been investigated. The filter reduces the noise of scattered beams by absorbing the low-energy beams in the X-ray spectrum that are most likely to be scattered, but high filter thicknesses can attenuate the more energetic beams and have a negatively effect on the image quality. On the other hand, the absorption of those low-energy beams increases the average spectrum energy and thus reduce the contrast, so it is necessary to use the appropriate material and thickness of the filter. For this purpose, to examine the filter...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Alipour, Mahdi (Author) ; Movaghar Rahimabadi, Ali (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Virtualizing the cloud data center as multiple VMs running parallel on a cloud server is a practical solution to the exponentially grown number of cloud users. The fluctuations in the number of required resources, like networking, storage, and computing resources, can be met by dynamic VM migration. The method by which cloud providers manage VMs and hardware resources to decrease costs and ensure the quality of services is of great importance, especially when the cloud is under a heavy workload. VM migration is one of the most fundamental and practical practices in managing the clouds. Despite all the benefits of VM migration, it also brings overhead on the source host, destination host, and...

Furthermore, in today's world, human life is heavily influenced by greenhouse gases, and avoiding emitting gases like CO2, is almost infeasible. This thesis provides an...

Experimental and Numerical Study of Sheet Metals Formability based on Crystal Plasticity and Presentation of High Formability Fibers

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Hajian, Masoud (Author) ; Assempour, Ahmad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In the classical theories of plasticity, plastic deformation of material is modeled with a macro- scopic viewpoint and without considering the existing physical mechanisms at the crystal scale. However, plastic deformation stems from slip phenomena and evolution of crystalline structure. Furthermore the effects of initial texture of material on its mechanical properties, like formability, and also texture evolution of material can only be calculated by considering these physical mecha- nisms. The main purpose of this thesis is to predict forming limit diagrams of sheet metals based on crystal plasticity approach by considering the effect of initial material texture and presentation of...
