Adsorption Of Uranium from Phosphoric acid and Waste Water with Microcapsules Contains Selective Extractants

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Tayebi, Ahmad (Author) ; Ghofrani, Mohammad Bagher (Supervisor) ; Khanchi, Alireza (Supervisor) ; Outokesh, Mohammad (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
Uptake characteristics of alginate microcapsules containing D2EHPA/TOPO for adsorption of uranium from industrial effluent were examined using batch, stirred and column method .stable alginate microcapsules in dried form was developed by immobilizing of D2EHPA/TOPO in porous matrix of calcium alginate. Characteristics of microcapsules were carrying out by destructive chemical analysis, BET, SEM and TG .the synthesized microcapsules showed a good column properties and high selectivity and reusability. In addition, isotherm adsorption of calcium alginate and microcapsules were fitted with frendlich's equation .the microcapsules also demonstrated that, the uptake percentage was constantly high...

Experimental Investigation of Henna powder as an Additive to Drilling Fluid

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mahmoodi, Masoud (Author) ; Masihi, Mohsen (Supervisor) ; Shadizadeh, Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
A critical property in designing drilling fluids is the concerns for environmental damages and cost efficiency of mud additives used to complete a well safely and economically. Designing drilling fluids for harsh environments such as high temperature, high salinity formation water, lime and cement contamination demands proper selection of deflocculant (thinner) materials to achieve a successful drilling operation. This study presents a novel thinner material that satisfies the goal of an environmentally and economically acceptable mud in drilling lime contamination areas where drilling carbonate formations with high concentration of calcium ions tends to flocculate clay particles in...

Investigation the Effect of additives on Effective Parameters in Design and Production of Agricultural Sulfur Formulation

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Abedini, Hassan (Author) ; Safekordi, Ali Akbar (Supervisor) ; Ahmadi, Amir Naser (Supervisor) ; Pakseresht, Saed (Co-Advisor) ; Roozbehani, Ahmad (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
Nowadays, different processes are designed in order to convert raw materials to value added products. One of these is the Bentonite sulfur production process. The most important equipment in this process are stirred tanks where mixing operation of molten sulfur with some additives such as functionalized Bentonite and oxides of iron, zinc and manganese are performed.
In this thesis, following the design and making of a laboratory scale glass baffled stirred tank, the viscosity of molten sulfur and additive suspension has been measured at different temperature (125, 130 and 135oC) and several formulations. Concentration profile of Bentonite has also been obtained by means of local sampling...

The Feasibility Study of Micronized Powder Plant for Exporting (UNIDO METOD)

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology (Author) ; Hooshmand, Mahmoud (Supervisor)
    Abstract
This thesis deals with the development of a hypothetical micronized powder factory and trying to test and engage in this hypothetical development of the following plant, it considers following factors:
    1-Domestic & International market
    2-Plant location
    3-Plant design & development
    a.machinery
    b.technology & equipment
    c.human resource
    d.environment
    e.packing
    4-raw material
    5-shipping & transport
To evaluate above factors the UNIDO methodology is used in this research work. The UNIDO methods are using a process by which feasibility studies of production facilities or plant are base on. After reviewing a variety of factors, ranging from financial...
