    Abstract
In this work, a nanocomposite containing manganese dioxide (MnO2) modified reduced graphene oxide (rGO) supported bimetallic palladium-nickel (Pd-Ni) catalyst is prepared by electrodeposition method. The nanocomposite modifier film is prepared by forming a thin layer of graphene oxide (GO) via drop-casting of GO nanosheet dispersion on glassy carbon electrode (GCE), followed by electrochemical reduction of the film to provide rGO/GCE. Then, a two-step potential procedure is applied to deposit MnO2 nanoparticles on rGO/GCE. At the optimum deposition conditions, MnO2 nanoparticles with a thickness of 30-50 nm homogeneously covered the rGO surface (MnO2/rGO/GCE). Finally, the bimetallic Pd-Ni...

    , Article Talanta ; Volume 80, Issue 1 , 2009 , Pages 31-38 ; 00399140 (ISSN) Ghalkhani, M ; Shahrokhian, S ; Ghorbani Bidkorbeh, F ; Sharif University of Technology
    2009
    Abstract
Multi-walled carbon nanotube decorated with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs-MWCNT) is used as an effective strategy for modification of the surface of pyrolytic graphite electrode (PGE). This modification procedure improved colloidal dispersion of the decorated MWCNTs in water, affording uniform and stable thin films for altering the surface properties of the working electrode. Robust electrode for sensing applications is obtained in a simple solvent evaporation process. The electrochemical behavior of sumatriptan (Sum) at the bare PGE and AgNPs-MWCNT modified PGE is investigated. The results indicate that the AgNPs-MWCNT modified PGE significantly enhanced the oxidation peak current of Sum. A...

    Abstract
The aim of this research is to design an implantable integrated microfluidic system in order to regularly measure the glucose level in the human body, nonenzymatically, using the microdialysis method. The main compartments of this system are a micropump, array of hollow microneedles and an electrochemical sensor. At the base of the microneedles, there are located semipermeable membranes, that when the pumped dialysis fluid passes over them, the glucose of the interstitial fluid diffuses into the dialysis fluid and then, in the sensor section, it is measured nonenzymatically using the amperometry method. Both the arrangement of the miconeedles and the amount of the dialysis fluid flow are...

Predicting the cardiac troponin I (cTnI) aptamer/methylene blue configuration using computational modeling studies: a screening search method for constructing aptasensors

    , Article ChemistrySelect ; Volume 5, Issue 35 , September , 2020 , Pages 10958-10969 Mokhtari, Z ; Khajehsharifi, H ; Hashemnia, S ; Shahrokhian, S ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) is the most common cause of mortality, and cardiac troponin I (cTnI) is the gold standard for AMI diagnosis. Some aptamers have been reported to detect cTnI, but there is rarely any structural information on their binding with cTnI. There are many studies involving electrochemical aptasensors with methylene blue (MB) as a redox indicator that does not provide any significant new information. Our study, however, involves the computational modeling of the complexes of a documented 40-mer ssDNA-cTnI aptamer with its target and MB. Here, MB was used as a model system to investigate the rather complex interaction modes between small redox molecules and a...

    Abstract
A film composed of carbon nanoparticles and poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) or CNP-PDDAC is formed in a layer-by-layer deposition process at tin-doped indium oxide (ITO) substrates. Excess positive binding sites within this film in aqueous phosphate buffer at pH 9.5 are quantified by adsorption of iron(III)phthalocyanine tetrasulfonate and indigo carmine. Both anionic redox systems bind with Langmuirian characteristics (K ≈ 105 mol-1 dm3) and show electrochemical reactivity throughout the film at different thicknesses. Therefore, the electrical conductivity in CNP-PDDAC films is good and the positive binding sites are approximately 140 pmol cm-2 per layer. Structural instability of...

    Abstract
Hereby a simple, low-cost and scalable route is being presented for preparation of binder-free electrodes of reduced graphene oxide (RGO) on Ni foam (Ni/Gr). In this regard, the Ni foams are dipped in graphene oxide (GO) slurry. Next, the GO loaded Ni foams are kept in a freeze dryer for 24 h and heated up to 800 °C in an inert atmosphere. In this approach, the amount of active materials can be easily optimized for capacitive deionization (CDI). The characterization of Ni/Gr electrodes revealed a 3D porous assembly of RGO on Ni substrate which is helpful for the fast ion diffusion and rapid electron transport. The electrochemical performance of the prepared electrodes is investigated in both...
