    Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) are well-promising future networks especially for ubiquitous connection to Internet. In this paper, we propose an analytical model in order to evaluate the maximum stable throughput of a WMN based on a simplified version of IEEE 802.11s MAC protocol. Our modeling approach is based on a multi-class open queueing network. In this respect, we map some of the important features of IEEE 802.11s MAC protocol, esp., its contention-based and contention-free periods onto different parameters of the proposed queueing network.     A new meta-heuristic algorithm is proposed for constructing multicast trees in real-time multimedia applications such that satisfies two important Quality of Service (QoS) constraints. The QoS based multicast routing problem is a known NP-complete problem that depends on (1) bounded end-to-end delay and link bandwidth along the paths from the source to each destination, and (2) minimum cost of the multicast tree.     Abstract
    Molecular dynamics, MD, simulation of calcite (CaCO3) is selected to compare the p-v-T behaviour of some universal equations of state, UEOS, for the temperature range 100 K ≤ T 800 ≤ K, and pressures up to 3000 kbar. The isothermal sets of p-v-T data generated by simulation were each fitted onto some three- and two-parameter EOSs including Parsafar and Mason (PM), Linear Isotherm Regularity (LIR), Birch-Murnaghan (BM), Shanker, Vinet, Baonza and Modified generalized Lennard-Jones (MGLJ) EOSs.     Common methods of gait generation of bipedal locomotion based on experimental results, can successfully synthesize biped joints' profiles for a simple walking.     Histidine rich protein II derived peptide (HRP II 169-182) was investigated by molecular dynamics, MD, simulation and 17O electric field gradient, EFG, tensor calculations. MD simulation was performed in water at 300 K with α-helix initial structure. It was found that peptide loses its initial α-helix structure rapidly and is converted to random coil and bent secondary structures.     Network-on-Chip (NoC) has been proposed as a solution for addressing the design challenges of future high-performance nanoscale architectures. Thus, it is of crucial importance for a designer to ha ve access to fast methods for evaluating the performance of on-chip networks.     13C chemical shieldings and 14N and 2H electric field gradient (EFG) tensors of L-alanylglycine (L-alagly) dipeptide were calculated at RHF/6-31++G and B3LYP/6-31++G levels of theory respectively. For these calculations a crystal structure of this dipeptide obtained from X-ray crystallography was used. Atomic coordinates of different clusters containing several L-alagly molecules were used as input files for calculations.     The dissolution of plasma-sprayed hydroxyapatite (PHA) coatings with different characteristics, produced by various spraying conditions, in a Tris-buffered solution at pH 7.4 was experimentally studied through the measurement of the release of calcium ions. The phase composition of the coatings at surface and interface, and the porosity were evaluated. The analytical modeling revealed that the calcium dissolution process was composed of two stages.     Abstract
    A molecular structural mechanics method has been implemented to investigate the vibrational behavior of single-layered graphene sheets. By adopting this approach, mode shapes and natural frequencies are obtained. Vibrational analysis is performed with different chirality and boundary conditions. Numerical results from the atomistic modeling are employed to develop predictive equations via a statistical nonlinear regression model. With the proposed equations, fundamental frequencies of single-layered graphene sheets with considered boundary conditions can be predicted within 3% difference with respect to the atomistic simulation. © IOP Publishing Ltd

    A computational method for simulation of 3-D movement of the trunk under the control of 48 anatomically oriented muscle actions was developed. Neural excitation of muscles was set based on inverse dynamics approach along with the stability-based optimization. The effect of muscle spindle reflex response on the trunk movement stability was evaluated upon the application of a perturbation moment.     In this paper, a three-dimensional steady state incompressible turbulent air flow is considered in a large single room. The buoyancy affected turbulent air flow is numerically simulated by solving governing equations. The turbulence modeling includes both κ - ε and zero-equation models and their results are compared to the experimental data. The paper reviews several aspects, such as displacement of radiator system performance, temperature and flow field distribution and comfort conditions.     We simulated the knee arthrometry test to obtain a deeper understanding of the joint's stability behavior and interpret the arthrometric results more effectively. A 2D sagittal plane finite element model of the lower limb in the standard configuration of knee arthrometry was developed using ANSYS APDL. A detailed model of the knee joint was considered including the femoral articulating contour represented by an ellipse, the tibial plateau represented by a circular arc, and four major knee ligaments and their individual bundles represented by linear and nonlinear tensile springs.     The present study is concerned with the numerical simulation of free-surface waves and wave induced separation in the presence of an intrusion. The results of several simulations are reported.     Abstract
    This paper introduces a wavelet packet algorithm based on a new wavelet like filter created by a neural mass model in place of wavelet. The hypothesis is that the performance of an ERP based BCI system can be improved by choosing an optimal wavelet derived from underlying mechanism of ERPs. The wavelet packet transform has been chosen for its generalization in comparison to wavelet. We compared the performance of proposed algorithm with existing standard wavelets as Db4, Bior4.4 and Coif3 in wavelet packet platform.     Patellar lateral stability was studied using a 2D transverse plane model with deformable articular surfaces. Quadriceps muscles and patellar tendon were considered as strings with predefined forces and lateral and medial retinaculum as tensile springs. Deformation behavior of articular cartilage was modeled by a set of compression springs perpendicular to articular surfaces, based on rigid body spring model method (RBSM).
