    Abstract
Multistimuli-responsive hyperbranched polymers were synthesized in one-step polymerization using reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer self-condensing vinyl polymerization (RAFT-SCVP). These hyperbranched polymers responded to UV-vis or sunlight, pH changes, and temperature changes. 2-(dodecylthiocarbonothioylthio)-2-methylpropionic acid known as DDMAT participated in esterification with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate to obtain a chain transfer monomer in the name of 2-((2-(((dodecylthio)carbonothioyl)thio)-2-methylpropanoyl)oxy)ethylmethacrylate (MACDT). For the first time, smart hyperbranched polymers were produced with the RAFT-SCVP method in one step by using...

Numerical Simulation of two Phase Flow Around Gas- Condensate Wells With Compositional Model

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Heidary, Hadi (Author) ; Taghizadeh Manzari, Mehrdad (Supervisor) ; Seif, Mohammad Saeid (Supervisor) ; Kazemzade Hannani, Siamak (Supervisor)
    Abstract
If the reservoir temperature lies between the critical temperature and cricondentherm of the reservoir fluid, the reservoir is classified as a retrograde gas-condensate reservoir. When the pressure is decreased on these mixtures, instead of expanding or vaporizing as might be expected, they vaporize instead of condensing. If the reservoir pressure is above the upper dew-point pressure, the hydrocarbon system exists as a single phase in the reservoir (region 3). As the reservoir pressure declines isothermally during production from the initial pressure to the upper dew-point pressure, the attraction between the molecules of the light and heavy components move further apart. As this occurs,...

    Abstract
In petrochemical, Process condensate is mixtures of dissolved gasses and water. Process condensate striper tower is a physical separation equipment where dissolved gasses remove from water by saturated steam. The Process condensate feed is introduced at the top of the column and the steam input is located at the bottom. When the process condensate enters the stripper tower, it comes down the tower also when the steam enters the tower, it goes up, because there is packing portion in the stripper tower and two streams are countercurrent, as result contact between steam and process condensate, a lot of dissolved gases vapors and exits with steam from top of tower. After leaving the tower, the...

    , Article Fluid Phase Equilibria ; Volume 339 , 2013 , Pages 40-51 ; 03783812 (ISSN) Assareh, M ; Ghotbi, C ; Pishvaie, M. R ; Mittermeir, G. M ; Sharif University of Technology
    2013
    Abstract
The strong bases statistical associated fluid theory (SAFT) equations of state allow modeling for a wide range of scales and applications. The equilibrium calculations are very time-consuming in SAFT-based family of equations of state; therefore the number of components used in describing a fluid mixture must be reduced by grouping. On the other hand, in some applications it is required to retrieve the detailed fluid description from equilibrium calculation performed on the lumped fluid description. The purpose of this paper is to develop a systematic approach for lumping and delumping with equilibrium calculations using the Perturbed Chain (PC)-SAFT equation of state. The methodology...

    Abstract
The synthesis of diamino triphenyl methanes from aniline and aromatic aldehydes was conducted in near critical water and supercritical water. The reaction parameters, such as temperature, density, and reaction time, have been studied. Significant acceleration of the condensation reaction of aniline and aromatic aldehydes can be achieved by using high temperature water, especially near the critical point, in the absence of any acid catalysts. It has been demonstrated that high temperature water act effectively in the place of conventional acid catalysts

    Abstract
Short ZnO nanorods and long ZnO nanowires have been produced on SiO2 and Si substrates by VLS and VS mechanisms via a double tube chemical vapor transport and condensation (CVTC) process. The role of reactants and droplet interfaces on the nucleation and growth of ZnO nanorods have been investigated. A conceptual model for nucleation of ZnO nanorods has been proposed by describing the half-oxidation and reduction reactions at the growth front. The importance of Zn vapor in the nucleation phenomena has been studied by changing starting materials. Atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and EDX analysis have been used to characterize ZnO nanorods and investigate the...

    Abstract
Techniques of production data analysis for single-phase oil and gas reservoirs have advanced significantly over the past few years. These techniques range from traditional (Arps and Fetkovich) to modern (for the variation of operating conditions at the wellbore). The application of these techniques for analysis of the production data of a gas condensate reservoir may not yield reliable answers due to the fact that the flow of fluid in gas condensate reservoirs is not single-phase. This paper presents the treatment of a modern method of production data analysis (single-phase flow) to analyze the production data of a gas condensate reservoir (two-phase flow). For this purpose, a single-phase...

    Abstract
A depleted naturally fractured gas condensate reservoir with extremely tight matrix permeability in the center of Iran is used for gas storage. Due to the tightness of the matrix, simulation of this process may present a unique challenge in terms of the importance of diffusion process in flow behavior of the injected gas in matrix blocks. This article presents a multimechanistic (Darcian-type flow and Fickian-type flow) mathematical model to investigate the importance of diffusion process as a function of important rock and fluid parameters. The authors' approach consists of the following steps: (a) development of a 1-D governing equations for a single matrix block consists of a gas...

    Abstract
Condensate and water banking around gas condensate wells result in vital well deliverability issues. Wettability alteration of near wellbore region to gas wetting condition is known to be the most novel and the only permanent method, to improve condensate well productivity. In this work, a water based nanofluid is used to change the wettability of sandstone reservoir rocks from strongly liquid wetting to intermediate gas wetting condition. Static contact angle measurements demonstrated significant increase of liquid phase contact angle as a result of chemical treatment with SurfaPore M nanofluid. The characteristics of SurfaPore M adsorption on sandstone rock are quantified through kinetic...

    Abstract
A complete cycle of droplet nucleation, growth, coalescence and jumping on different textured hydrophobic and superhydrophobic surfaces is studied for the first time, using a 2-D double distribution function thermal lattice Boltzmann method. First, droplet nucleation mechanism on smooth and rough surfaces is studied in detail. The results reveal the presence of cooled vapor layer instability in the condensation on completely smooth surfaces. However, on the rough surfaces and near the roughness a completely different mechanism is observed and the nucleation occurs on the roughness wedges. Also, the condensation on different textured surfaces with nominal contact angles θa=90°,120°,155° is...

Moreover, TC indicates the effect of Au catalyst layer on formation of more highly...

Investigation of Nucleation and Growth of Metallic Nanoparticlaes from the Gas Phase by Molecular Dynamic Simulation

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Naghibi Nezhad, Mohsen (Author) ; Askari, Masoud (Supervisor) ; Simchi, Abdolreza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Formation of nanoparticles by the gas phase condensation process is one of the most promising methods for the nanoparticles synthesis. Finding the correlations between adjustable parameters of the process and nanoparticles properties depends on how parameters affect the mechanism of nucleation and growth. The use of classical nucleation theory at nanoscale leads to unacceptable results; hence, approaches such as molecular dynamic simulation (MD) have been proposed to investigate the mechanism of nucleation and growth at atomic scale. In the present work, the formation of iron clusters from a supersaturated gas phase was investigated via molecular dynamics simulation. For thermalization of...

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Kiamehr, Mostafa (Author) ; Matloubi Moghaddam, Firouz (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In the first chapter, three efficient synthesis of novel polyheterocyclic indole and thiochromone-annulated thiopyranocoumarin derivatives are achieved via domino Knoevenagel hetero Diels–Alder reaction of O-acrylated and O-propargylated salicylaldehyde derivatives with indolin-2-thiones and 4-hydroxy dithiocoumarin. The domino Knoevenagel-hetero-Diels–Alder reactions are very efficient process that allows the formation of two or more rings at once, avoiding sequential chemical transformations. The products are formed in good-to-excellent yields with high regio- and stereoselectivity. The major advantage of this reaction is the ease of the work-up during which the products can be isolated...
