    Al2O3/Si3N4 nanocomposite coating on aluminum alloy by the anodizing route: Fabrication, characterization, mechanical properties and electrochemical behavior

    Abstract
    An Al2O3/Si3N4 nanocomposite coating was successfully fabricated on commercial aluminum alloy. Hardness measurements, polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were employed to study the mechanical and corrosion behaviors of the coatings. Field-Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM) equipped with Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were utilized to characterize the surface morphology and phase composition of the coatings.     Abstract
    The electrocatalytic oxidation of methanol was studied over Ni, Co and Cu binary or ternary alloys on graphite electrodes in a NaOH solution (0.1 mol/L). The catalysts were prepared by cycling the graphite electrode in solutions containing Ni, Cu and Co ions at cathodic potentials. The synergistic effects and catalytic activity of the modified electrodes were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV), chronoamperometry (CA) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). It was found that, in the presence of methanol, the modified Ni-based ternary alloy electrode (G/NiCuCo) exhibited a significantly higher response for methanol oxidation compared to the other samples.     Oxygen reduction on a polycrystalline silver electrode was studied by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The reaction occurred by a two-electron pathway. The steps in the mechanism were observed in the cyclic voltammograms recorded with different scan rates.     Abstract
    The electrochemical corrosion behavior of finemet alloy at various heat treatment temperatures was investigated. Thermal behavior and structural changes were studied using differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffractometry, respectively. The electrochemical corrosion of amorphous and annealed samples was investigated in 0.10 M NaOH solution using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and linear sweep voltammetery. Changes in morphology of the samples before and after corrosion were characterized using optical microscope.     Abstract
    Nanostructured molybdenum oxide having a particle size in the range of 30-80 nm was prepared by potentiodynamic electrodeposition method, and the effects of H2SO4 concentration on its capacitive behavior were studied by cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic discharge, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Poor to fair capacitive behaviors were witnessed depending on the electrolyte concentration and conditions of charge/discharge. Increasing acid concentration to 0.02 M had favorable effect, while beyond that, the effect was detrimental. Capacitance around 600 F g-1 was recorded in the potential range of 0 to -0.55 V vs. Ag/AgCl

    Abstract
    Nanostructured molybdenum oxide was potentiodynamically deposited onto a stainless steel surface from an aqueous bath by cycling the potential between 0 and -0.75 V vs. Ag/AgCl. The deposit consisted of particulates in the range of 30 to 80 nm. Electrochemical studies under galvanostatic charge/discharge and also impedance spectroscopy revealed capacitive behavior in the potential range of -0.3 to -0.55 V vs. Ag/AgCl with the value of 477 F g-1 at 0.1 mA/cm2.     This work presents the synthesis of nanostructured hollow polyaniline (PANI) capsules and their application for encapsulation of corrosion inhibitor 2-Mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT). The pH-triggered release of MBT from the capsules was evidenced using UV–vis and Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS). Incorporation of MBT loaded PANI capsules into epoxy ester coating on AA2024-T3 resulted in a protective system with self-healing ability confirmed by Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and Scanning Vibrating Electrode Technique (SVET).     As a B group vitamins, vitamin B9 is a Water-soluble vitamin which is produced by plants and microorganisms (bacteria and yeasts).     Abstract
    In this study, the surface morphology of Ni–P–SiO2 composite coating was investigated by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The amount of SiO2 in the coating was examined by energy dispersive analysis of X-ray (EDX) and the Corrosion behavior of coating was evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and polarization techniques, showing the corrosion resistance of Ni–P–SiO2 diminished after heat treatment. The results showed that in the coating with 12.5 g/L SiO2, the coating hardness enhanced from 453VH to 980 VH before and after heat treatment. Furthermore, the wear behavior of the coating was analyzed before and after heat treatment
