Some compounds are new and have never been synthesized before and confirmed by FT-IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR analysis. All of these compounds possess multiple biological activities. The heterogeneous magnetic catalyst (NiFe2O4-Alnus-SO3H) was characterized by various physicochemical techniques such as FT-IR spectroscopy, field...

    Abstract
Direct oxidation is a simple and effective method for titanium surface treatment. In this research, a titanium sample was directly oxidized at the high temperature in two different atmospheres, air and pure oxygen, to obtain better atmosphere for titanium surface treatment. The results of the Raman spectroscopy indicated that in both atmospheres, the rutile bioactive phase (TiO2) has been formed on the titanium surface. The results of X-ray diffraction (XRD) also revealed that the surface of oxygen-treated sample was composed of the rutile phase and titanium monoxide (TiO), while at the surface of the air-treated sample, the rutile phase and titanium dioxide had been formed. Further, the...

    Abstract
In automobile painting industries, new automobile body products frequently should be tested in order to determine the actual thermal behavior of a paint curing process before starting mass production. During the hardening processes of dipped paint coating, applied in the electrophoretic enameling process, or top paint coating, applied in the final coating process, the automobile body must be warmed up according to the specific paint manufacturer curve. Consequently, prediction of car body temperature during the curing process may be vital in the design and performance analysis of the paint ovens. Numerical simulation of these processes may reduce expensive and time-consuming experimental...

    Abstract
The ability of an active protective organic coating to restore its protection functionality in case of a coating defect is of pivotal importance to ensure durable performance under demanding corrosive conditions. In this paper, a self-healing epoxy system is fabricated by separate encapsulation of epoxy and polyamine in carbon hollow spheres (CHSs) and the autonomous healing performance of the system applied on mild steel is investigated. CHSs were synthesized via a silica templating method using carbonization of polysaccharide shells formed on the surface of silica templates. Consequently, epoxy and polyamine were loaded in separate capsules by dispersion of CHSs into the dilute solutions...

    Abstract
Introduction. Dental caries is the most common cause of tooth loss. However, it can be stopped by enhancing remineralization. Fluoride and casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) are among the most important remineralizing agents. Recent studies have used bioactive glass as a remineralizing agent in different forms. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of a composite paste (prepared by mixing urethane polypropylene glycol oligomer with bioactive glass powder for easier application). Materials and Methods. Enamel disks were cut out of the buccal surface of extracted sound third molars. The samples were randomly divided into 3 groups of 15 and underwent Vickers...

Numerical solution of non-fourier heat transfer during laser irradiation on tooth layers

    , Article Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology ; Volume 31, Issue 12 , 2017 , Pages 6085-6092 ; 1738494X (ISSN) Falahatkar, S ; Nouri Borujerdi, A ; Najafi, M ; Mohammadzadeh, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
This study reports on the simulation of temperature distribution of human tooth under a laser beam based on non-Fourier models. The temperature in the tooth depth that directly results from the conduction heat transfer process is caused by the lengthy thermal relaxation time in the tooth layers. A detailed tooth composed of enamel, dentin, and pulp with unstructured shape, uneven boundaries, and realistic thicknesses was considered. A finite difference scheme was separately adopted to solve time-dependent equations in solid layers and soft tissue of the tooth. In this study, a dual-phase-lag non-Fourier heat conduction model was applied to evaluate temperature distribution induced by laser...

    Abstract
Fabrication of well-defined gold nanowires (GNWs) is of significant importance in many fields such as sensing applications. In this study, the electrodeposition of well-defined GNWs inside polycarbonate (PC) template has been discussed in detail. GNWs were potentiostatically electrodeposited at different filling rates. The growth of GNWs at different stages of pore filling was monitored by electrochemical measurements and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). It was confirmed that under growth rates between 2.5 and 4 nm/s, GNWs with smooth ends grew uniformly inside the template without any imperfections or corrugations. The length of GNWs was electrochemically controlled to...
