Industrial Symbiosis Analysis between Biogas Plants and Photovoltaic Greenhouses, Using Geographic Information System

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Gholizadeh, Saba (Author) ; Roshandel, Ramin (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Meeting the energy demand of agricultural greenhouses has turned out to be the most important challenge of greenhouse cultivation. In this study, it is proposed to use the concept of industrial symbiosis between agricultural greenhouses and biogas plants to face this challenge. The main purpose of the study is to investigate the potential clean greenhouse area that may be supported by the proposed symbiotic network, in order to provide a decision-making tool for the relevant policymakers. The methodology is based on the agent-based input-output matching economic analysis. The amount of biogas produced by poultry and cattle manure is estimated to be 0.6 (m3 / kg VS) and 0.47 (m3 / kg VS)...

Novel minimum time trajectory planning in terrain following flights

    , Article IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems ; Volume 43, Issue 1 , 2007 , Pages 2-12 ; 00189251 (ISSN) Malaek, S. M ; Kosari, A. R ; Sharif University of Technology
    2007
    Abstract
A new methodology has been proposed to enhance inverse dynamics applications in the process of trajectory planning and optimization in terrain following flights (TFFs). The new approach uses a least square scheme to solve a general two-dimensional (2-D) TFF in a vertical plane. In the mathematical process, Chebyshev polynomials are used to model the geographical data of the terrain in a given route in a manner suitable for the aircraft at hand. The aircraft then follows the modeled terrain with sufficient clearance. In this approach the terrain following (TF) problem is effectively converted to an optimal tracking problem. Results show that this method provides a flexible approach to solve...

    City hazardous gas monitoring network

    , Article Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries ; Volume 18, Issue 4-6 , 2005 , Pages 481-487 ; 09504230 (ISSN) Abbaspour, M ; Mansouri, N ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In our today's societies, many dangerous chemicals are produced and transported. Due to the vast use of chemicals, more chemical accidents are taking place with huge losses. In this study a city hazardous gas monitoring network was designed to detect the dispersion of toxic and combustible gases in the primary stages. The network could cover hazardous chemical facilities, important hazardous chemical routes, warehouses and special locations which may be the targets of terrorist attacks. The network is consisted of several local networks and a central control panel complex. Each local network has a local control panel in the center and many detectors and sounders around it at distances less...

Locating wind farm for power and hydrogen production based on Geographic information system and multi-criteria decision making method: An application

    , Article International Journal of Hydrogen Energy ; Volume 47, Issue 58 , 2022 , Pages 24569-24583 ; 03603199 (ISSN) Hosseini Dehshiri, S. S ; Hosseini Dehshiri, S. J ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Hydrogen generation from renewable energy resources is considered as a suitable solution to solve the problems related to the energy sector and the reduction of greenhouse gases. The aim of this study is to provide an integrated framework for identifying suitable areas for the construction of wind farms to produce hydrogen. For this purpose, a combined method of Geographic Information System (GIS) and multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) has been used to locate the power plant in Yazd province. The GIS method in the present study consisted of two parts: constraints and criteria. The constraint section included areas that were unsuitable for the construction of wind farms to produce power...

    Path Simplification Game

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Nakhaei Pour Rokerd, Mohammad Hossein (Author) ; Abam, Mohammad Ali (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The problem of path simplification is an important problem in computer science. With the advances in navigation and geographical information based systems, simplification and data compression have gained considerable importance. The intends to find a path with less weight than the provided path while estimating the initial path with good accuracy and simplifying the storage and process cost of path information. This problem is not only useful in Geographical Information Systems, but it also has use cases in image processing and computer graphics and has been studied a lot in computational geometry. In this research, we introduce a simplification game that models the limited version of the...
