    Abstract
    High-voltage power supplies (HVPSs) are widely used to drive vacuum tubes, inherently susceptible to vacuum arc faults. Owing to the considerable cost of vacuum tubes, the HVPS should enjoy a reliable, fast protection mechanism. A common protection mechanism against vacuum arc faults is the shunt crowbar. The crowbar diverts the energy stored in the elements of the HVPS through itself as a parallel path, thereby protecting vacuum tubes from irrecoverable damages. Among all types of the shunt crowbar, the thyristor-based crowbar along with the fault current limiter (FCL) resistors attracts more attention because of its more reliable operation.     Abstract
    Modeling the spine behavior plays a key role in understanding mechanisms leading to spinal disorders and injuries. The goal of this article is to develop a new model to obtain 3D spine movement patterns. High degrees of freedom of the system, a great many of muscles involved in the spine movements and its unstable intrinsic behavior make the control problem more difficult. New theories in computational motor control suggest optimal control as a useful tool for modeling Central Nervous System (CNS) to provide appropriate control signals while it computes the neural interactions with biological sensors.     Abstract
    There are many depletable resource planning problems associated with convex cost function. The Greedy algorithm has been used to find the optimal solution for such problems. But exploiting that algorithm requires a large bulk of computations to find the optimal solution. Thus, in this paper we have established two piecewise linear estimators for the convex cost function: an inner intersection of the function values and an outer tangent. A practical experiment was conducted to compare the performance of the two presented estimators and it was observed that the outer tangent performs more efficiently than the inner intersection.     Abstract
    In this paper, a new fuzzy coordination method based on Interaction Prediction Principle (IPP) is presented for the optimal control of robot manipulators. For this purpose, the robot manipulator is considered as a two-level large-scale system where in the first level, the overall system is decomposed into several subsystems. Each subsystem can include one or more consecutive links and joints.     Creating laser texture on dental implants is a novel method for accelerating osseointegration and prolongation of lifespan.     Abstract
    Free vibration response of a cylindrical shell closed with two hemispherical caps at the ends (hermit capsule) is analysed in this research. It is assumed that the system of joined shell is made from functionally graded materials (FGM). Properties of the shells are assumed to be graded through the thickness. Cylindrical and hemispherical shells are unified in thickness. To capture the effects of through-the-thickness shear deformations and rotary inertias, first order theory of shells is used.
