    Dynamic stability of a Hexaglide machine tool for milling processes

    Abstract
    One of the major issues related to parallel kinematic machine tools (PKMs) is their structural dependency on their configuration. In this paper, the machine configuration effect on its stability is investigated for the case of a Hexaglide machine tool. An FEM model of the Hexaglide machine tool is developed. The frequency response function (FRF) at the tool tip is obtained by a modal analysis. The numerical results are validated through comparison with those of an experimental modal test.     Chatter vibration is a major obstacle in achieveing increased machining performance. In this research, a finite element model of chip formation in a 2D milling process is used to predict the occurrence of chatter vibrations, and to investigate the effects of various machining parameters on this phenomenon. The dynamic properties of the machine tool at the tool tip are obtained based on experimental modal analysis, and are used in the model as the cutter dynamics.     Application of machine-learning models to estimate regional input coefficients and multipliers

    Abstract
    Due to the unavailability of accurate data and the limitations of the existing methods, reliable input–output tables (IOTs) may not be available for all the regions in a country. This study proposes a novel approach to estimate the regional input coefficients. It harnesses the capabilities of machine-learning (ML) algorithms to estimate the regional input coefficients of one region based on the IOTs of multiple other regions for which reliable data are available. The application of three ML algorithms is investigated using data from Japan. The results highlight the superior performance of the ML models compared with location quotient models. © 2021 Regional Studies Association

In order to present a realistic model of chatter vibration, in this research, a finite element simulation of orthogonal chip formation combined with a 2D model of machine tool dynamics is developed.     Abstract
    Restricting children access to materials unsuitable for them such as violence scenes is very important for parents. So there is a feature named Parental Control in devices such as televisions and computers to define the contents children can access. The parental control setting must be protected from children and is usually done by a password. In this paper, we propose a new method for distinguishing between adult users and child users based on human speech. In our proposed method, the user must say a word and the adult users are identified by processing the speech. In high and ultra high speed machining, the gyroscopic effect on the spindle dynamics becomes more pronounced and can affect the borders of stability of the rotating system.
