    Abstract
    TiO2 nanoparticles supported on activated carbon (AC) and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were prepared by the sol-gel method using ultrasonic irradiation. All the prepared samples were calcined at different temperatures and characterized by X-ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The effects of size and type of carbon on the morphology and photocatalytic activity of the resulting hybrid materials were investigated.     Vertically aligned multi-wall carbon nanotube (CNT) arrays were fabricated in tip-growth mode on Ni/Si substrates using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition. In a purification process including hydrogenation and acid washing of the Ni/CNTs, the oxygen-containing functional groups were substantially reduced and a wide hollow core at the tip of the CNTs was formed by removing the Ni seeds.     In this study, a hybrid of silica nanosphere/multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) has been synthesized by wet chemical method at room temperature. The effect of MWCNTs, silica nanospheres and hybrid nanostructures (80% silica nanosphere/20% MWCNT and 50% silica nanosphere/50% MWCNT) on the thermal conductivity of distilled water has been investigated. SDBS was used as the dispersant to stabilize nanomaterials in the aqueous suspension and its concentration was 1.5 times of the concentration of nanomaterials.     Based on the transmission line model (TLM), we present an exact and general transfer function formula, useful for both single multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) and MWCNT bundle interconnects. Using the standard parameters for 22-nm technology node we perform the Nyquist stability analysis, to investigate the dependence of the degree of relative stability for both single and bundle interconnects on the number of walls in each MWCNT its geometry and also on the bundle geometry.     Thermal degradation behavior of multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs)/ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) nanocomposites, with different nanotubes contents (0.5, 1.5 and 3.5 wt%) prepared via in-situ polymerization technique have been investigated using thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA).     The electrochemical reduction of tinidazole (TNZ) is studied on gold-nanoparticle/carbon-nanotubes (AuNP/CNT) modified glassy carbon electrodes using the linear sweep voltammetry.     Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was successfully immobilized on amine functionalized TiO 2-coated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (NH 2-TiO 2-CNTs) by a convenient and efficient method. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and amperometry were applied to characterize the HRP/NH 2-TiO 2-CNT nano-composite. These techniques showed that the NH 2-TiO 2-CNTs greatly enhance the electron transfer between HRP and the modified electrode.     Multi wall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) doped ZnO nanofibers were fabricated by electrospinning for the first time. We have successfully demonstrated the photocatalytic activity of doped nanofibers under visible light. Scanning electron microscopy showed that the diameter of MWCNT-doped ZnO nanofibers varied from 120 to 300 nm without agglomeration of MWCNT. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction studies proved the formation of ZnO bond and wurtzite structure with smaller crystal size in doped nanofibers.     In this work successful synthesis of multiwall carbon nanotube (CNT) using solution combustion and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) methods are reported. Ceramic nanocomposite samples of (Al 2-xFe xO 3)-(y)ZrO 2 formula with x = 0.017, 0.034 and 0.17 and y = 0.15 were initially prepared.     A mixture of multi-walled carbon nanotube/graphite paste electrode modified with a salophen complex of cobalt was prepared and was applied for the study of the electrochemical behavior of 6-mercaptopurine (MP) using cyclic and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). An excellent electrocatalytic activity toward the oxidation of MP was achieved, which led to a considerable lowering in the anodic overpotential and remarkable increase in the response sensitivity in comparison with unmodified electrode.     Abstract
    The present work focused on the characterization of mechanical properties of novolac phenolic resin (PF) filled with two types of clays, including modified and unmodified ones, and multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT). It was found that the solution mixing method is able to disperse the nanoparticles within the PF resin appropriately. It was also shown that the unmodified clay (Closite Na+) has the highest influence on the mechanical properties possibly due to the good level of dispersion as well as the good interfacial interaction. Theoretical analysis based on the rubber elasticity theory showed that the nanoparticles influence the evolution of crosslinking density and network structure

    Low structure carbon black (CBN330), conductive high structure carbon black (CBXE2B) and carboxylated multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) were loaded into the blend of natural rubber (NR) and styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) at different contents up to 10 phr. Kraus plots showed that all the reinforcements interact with NR/SBR blend appropriately. However, the CBXE2B whose interfacial area is the highest showed greatest value of Kraus interaction parameter.     In the present research, the introduction of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) into the hydroxyapatite (HA) matrix and dip coating of nanocomposite on titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) plate was conducted in order to improve the performance of the HA-coated implant via the sol-gel method.
