    Distribution system reconfiguration is an effective solution to reduce the consequences of a disaster through transferring loads to another feeder via automatic switches. Meanwhile, an optimal sequence of damage components repairments provides the operator with the opportunity to utilize components that play a critical role in restoring loads sooner.     Abstract
    This paper considers a cooperative space-frequency (SF) coded OFDM system and evaluates its performance over quasi-static frequency selective Rayleigh fading channels. An expression for exact outage error probability is derived and its tight closed form lower bound is presented. The tightness of the lower bound is demonstrated through the Monte Carlo simulations. The asymptotic analysis indicates that the proposed protocol achieves full spatial and frequency diversities available in the cooperative communication system. The theoretical analysis of the proposed space-frequency coded cooperation protocol is further confirmed by computer simulations. © 2007 IEEE

    Abstract
    This paper proposes a particle swarm optimization based algorithm for locating series FACTS devices in deregulated electricity markets in order to reduce and manage congestion. Line outage sensitivity factors are used to reduce the solution space and to pinpoint the lines which are more suitable for FACTS device placement. Total congestion cost and total generation cost are the two objective functions that are employed in the optimization process. In order to verify and validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, it was applied to IEEE 14-bus and IEEE 57-bus test systems.     This paper studies the statistical properties of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the dual-hop relaying link in a cooperative wireless communication system in the presence of channel estimation errors for fixed-gain (FG) and variable-gain (VG) relays.     In this paper, we investigate the diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) for multi-relay channels in finite-SNR regime. In our analysis, we consider the decode and forward (DF) relaying strategy and a line of sight path from source to destination. First, we determine the outage probability in a multi-relay scenario and obtain its exact analytical expressions. Then, the outage probability of a multi-relay channel with relay selection is calculated and provided as a closed-form expression. Based on these results, we determine the DMT in finite-SNR regime.     Abstract
    In this paper, we propose a novel cognitive cooperative relaying scheme using multi-carrier transmission in which cognitive users assist primary users by relaying their information using Decode and Forward (DF) strategy. The best cognitive user is selected as a relay for a Primary User (PU). Outage probability of the PU is investigated. Our analyses show substantial improvements in the outage probability of the PU when using the proposed cooperative scheme compared to non-cooperative one. Online data loss refers to the amount of data that become inaccessible when a failure occurs in the SAS.     In this paper, we investigate the performance of dense Poisson-point-process-based cellular networks using finite length codewords. Taking the properties of the power amplifiers (PAs) into account, we derive the outage probability, the per-user throughput and the area spectral efficiency in different conditions.     In this paper, we propose data traffic shaping via leaky bucket in order to reduce outage probability and enhance capacity of voice users for uplink variable spreading gain codedivision multiple-access (VSG-CDMA) cellular networks.
