    This paper proposes a transient stability constrained controlled islanding (TSC-CI) approach against cascading events in power systems. Using the wide area measurements, the proposed islanding algorithm is implemented regarding the actual dynamic conditions of the resulted islands. Since the main concern, right after the execution of controlled network splitting, is the transient stability of synchronous machines, a transient energy function is utilized for proper network partitioning.     Depending on the application in which power electronic converters (PECs) are deployed, failure processes may endanger the desirable performance of PECs. This paper offers holistic insights on reliability modeling of PECs considering dependencies in two simultaneous failure processes, namely gradual wearing-out degradation and vibration sudden degradation. While sudden and gradual degradation processes may individually affect the useful lifetime of PECs, their mutual interdependencies could significantly accelerate the aging mechanisms.     Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems are highly efficient. Massive MIMO systems are inherently resistant to passive attackers (eavesdroppers), thanks to transmissions directed to the desired users. However, active attackers can transmit a combination of legitimate user pilot signals during the channel estimation phase.     Contact wires are critical components of railway overhead infrastructure which provide power for trains. This paper proposes an innovative method to determine the service life of worn contact wires under three failure modes: tension, fatigue, and attrition. The tensile stress, fatigue damage, and cross-section loss of contact wire have been modelled as stochastic processes following lognormal distribution.     In this paper, we present a novel and rather simple method for calculating reverse-link outage probability in signal-to-interference ratio (SIR)-based power-controlled direct-sequence code-division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems.     This paper studies the statistical properties of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the relay link in a cooperative wireless communication system with fixed gain relay in presence of channel estimation error. The SNR expression is derived and three different analytic approaches with different approximate assumptions are used to obtain the probability distribution function of the SNR and outage probability of the relay link.     In this paper, we propose a new approach in computing interference distribution and outage probability for uplink CDMA cellular networks. In this approach, we model time-varying interference as a discrete-time Markov chain with flexible approximation and find its steady state distribution. Our approach is based on tracing the time variation of the effective factors in interference such as spatial locations, activity status, and shadowing status for the connected users.
