    Abstract
    Let R be a ring with nonzero identity. The unit graph of R, denoted by G(R), has its set of vertices equal to the set of all elements of R; distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if x + y is a unit of R. In this article, the basic properties of G(R) are investigated and some characterization results regarding connectedness, chromatic index, diameter, girth, and planarity of G(R)are given. (These terms are defined in Definitions and Remarks 4.1, 5.1, 5.3, 5.9, and 5.13.)  

    Influence of stacking fault energy and short-range ordering on dynamic recovery and work hardening behavior of copper alloys

    Abstract
    True stress vs. true strain responses of Cu-6 wt.% Al and Cu-12 wt.% Mn alloys are presented. While Cu-6 wt.% Al alloy shows the typical mechanical response of low stacking fault energy alloys, the Cu-12 wt.% Mn alloy behaved similarly to medium to high stacking fault energy alloys. These findings clearly show that while short-range ordering triggers slip planarity, it has a minor effect on total dynamic recovery of these copper alloys

    Abstract
    in this paper the phase distribution in an array of coupled oscillators arranged on a circular surface is discussed. Coupling is considered to be weak and each oscillator is coupled to its four nearest neighbours. In a continuum limit where the number of oscillators goes to infinity a theoretical formulation in polar coordinates is proposed to describe the dynamic behaviour of phases of the array elements. A Green's function for phase distribution of the array is proposed in terms of its normalized eigenfunctions. Beam steering can be done via detuning the edge oscillators. © 2009 EuMA  

    Nonlinear vibrations of an inclined beam subjected to a moving load

    In this paper, the nonlinear dynamic responses of an inclined pinned-pinned Euler-Bernoulli beam with a constant cross section and finite length subjected to a concentrated vertical force traveling with constant velocity is investigated by using the mode summation method. Frequency analysis of the PDE's governing equations of motion for steady-state response is studied by applying multiple scales method. The nonlinear dynamic deflections of the beam are obtained by solving two coupled nonlinear PDE's governing equations of planar motion for both longitudinal and transverse oscillations of the beam.     Spatial integration by a dielectric slab and its planar graphene-based counterpart

    Abstract
    In this contribution a new approach to perform spatial integration is presented using a dielectric slab. Our approach is indeed based on the fact that the transmission coefficient of a simple dielectric slab at its mode excitation angle matches the Fourier-Green's function of first-order integration. Inspired by the mentioned dielectric-based integrator, we further demonstrate its graphene-based counterpart. The latter is not only reconfigurable but also highly miniaturized in contrast to the previously reported designs [Opt. Commun. 338, 457 (2015)]. Such integrators have the potential to be used in ultrafast analog computation and signal processing. © 2017 Optical Society of America

    Abstract
    The possible interactions near the triple-phase boundaries (TPB) metal/glass/air, and their effects on joint strength are investigated. Two types of samples (joined couples and glass coated coupons) are prepared with the coupon of AISI 430 (nickel plated and uncoated) and a slurry of compliant silicate sealing glass (SCN-1). The joined and coated samples are heated at 850 °C for 1000 h in air. The joined couples are cooled using two different schedules and then tested in uniaxial tension.     Novel architecture of high precision localization using optical flow sensor (OFS) combined with Iterative Point Tracking Algorithm (IPTA) is proposed. This work focuses on attenuation of OFS' sensitivity dependency on texture of surface over which sensor is moving. The aim for the design of experimental setup is to verify how much a robustness of OFS's sensitivity on various surfaces improves. In this regard, four different surfaces' texture including iron, paper, textile and granite stone is opted.     The general problem of impedance control is addressed for a robotic manipulator with a moving flexible base. Impedance control imposes a relation between force and displacement at the contact point with the environment. The concept of impedance control of flexible base moving manipulators (FBMMs) is rather new and is being considered. The dynamic of the manipulator is decomposed into slow and fast dynamics using the singular perturbation method.     In this paper, active vibration control of constrained manipulators used in automated deburring process is addressed. In order to suppress the random vibration generated due to the interaction force between robot end-effector and workpiece, an adaptive critic-based neurofuzzy controller is developed. This controller can adapt itself with different burr size. The control signal is fed to a piezoelectric actuator, which is mounted beside the workpiece.     In this paper, we propose a method for maintaining the region visible from a moving point observer inside a planar scene. In this method, we check the observer position in discrete time-stamps to detect and apply changes to the visible or illuminated region of a moving point observer q, or VP(q). We efficiently maintain a list C(q) of edges in VP(q) which are subject to change during the motion. In each time-stamp that VP(q) is to be updated, we only refine and redraw the view against the edges of C(q) that indicate the positions of the visibility changes.     Abstract
    A novel analytical method for solution of planar optical structure with arbitrary refractive index profile is proposed. This new method is founded on differential-transfer-matrices, whose field solutions are based on Airy's trial functions. In contrast to conventional Wentzel, Kramers, and Brillouin (WKB) solutions, which diverge around the turning points, this approach can be successfully used for exact calculation of various functions, including eigenvalues of optical waveguides with arbitrary index profiles, and complex reflection and transmission coefficients, even at the presence of turning points.     New gains tuning and impedance control method were addressed for flexible base moving manipulators. Slow and fast dynamics of robot are decoupled using singular perturbation method. Then, using sliding mode control method, an impedance control law was derived for the slow dynamics.     A new strategy for radiation loss reduction in curved slab waveguides is presented. The proposed strategy is based on the proper modification of the boundary conditions at the core-to-cladding interface, whereupon extremely thin conductive nanolayers with non-zero surface conductance are imposed.     Currently, some coarse measures like global network latency are used to compare routing protocols. These measures do not provide enough insight of traffic distribution among network nodes in the presence of different fault regions. This paper presents a detailed traffic analysis of fault-tolerant planar adaptive routing (FTPAR) algorithm achieved by an especially developed tool. Per-node traffic analysis illustrates the traffic hotspots caused by fault regions and provides a great assistance in developing fault tolerant routing algorithms.     Abstract
    We consider a planar gravitating thick domain wall of the λφ4 theory as a space-time with finite thickness glued to two vacuum space-times on each side of it. Darmois junction conditions written on the boundaries of the thick wall with the embedding space-times reproduce the Israel junction condition across the wall in the limit of infinitesimal thickness. The thick planar domain wall located at a fixed position is then transformed to a new coordinate system in which its dynamics can be formulated.     By using the planar laser induced florescence experiment (PLIF), a resorufin (RSRF) dye solution was tested as an oxygen probe. The photoreaction of RSRF dye was investigated and the oxidation process of this fluorescent probe molecule was demonstrated. The effect of the oxygen bubbles on tracing dissolved oxygen was also investigated in this study. Results obtained for this sensitive molecular probe dye are very interesting and verify that such an agent can be used effectively for investigating different interesting phenomena affecting the fluorescence.     Planar grating diffraction analysis based on Legendre expansion of electromagnetic fields is reported. In contrast to conventional RCWA in which the solution is obtained using state variables representation of the coupled wave amplitudes; here, the solution is expanded in terms of Legendre polynomials.     The goal of this paper is to describe essential criteria for image analysis of planar laser-induced fluorescence (PLIF) signals. A new image file conversion method is introduced and some typical illustrative examples showing the potential applications of the method in PLIF experiments are presented. Analysis of row, column, and total pixel counts, and the dark noise related to an image are discussed. Image segmentation, averaging and background correction can be easily done by the reported method.
