    Abstract
    Progress of carbon nanotube (CNT) research and development in terms of published papers and patents is reported. Developments concerning CNT structures, synthesis, and major parameters, in terms of the published documents are surveyed. Publication growth of CNTs and related fields are analyzed for the period of 2000-2010. From the explored search term, "carbon nanotubes", the total number of papers containing the CNT concept is 52,224, and for patents is 5,746, with a patent/paper ratio of 0.11. For CNT research in the given period, an annual increase of 8.09% for paper and 8.68% for patents are resulted.     Research and development efforts continue to improve oxidation resistance and electrical conductivity of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) interconnects. This research evaluates the performance of a ferritic stainless steel (AISI 430 - a candidate SOFC interconnect material) with and without a Co coating (via sol-gel dip coating technique) with various pre-treatments, during cyclic oxidation exposures up to 750°C in laboratory air. A pre-treatment exposure of Co coated samples to a 750°C reducing atmosphere (prior to oxidation exposures) led to the formation of an effective Co-based spinel oxide coating that lowers oxidation rates by more than 40 times, and substantially lowers area specific...

    Using survey data, public awareness of and attitudes toward nanotechnology are examined in Iran (N ≥ 759). Iran is a developing country with a national nanotechnology action plan for a ten year period starting from 2003 and has been active in the field of research and development of nanotechnology meanwhile. First, the results show that majority of people are still not familiar with nanotechnology and perceived risks posed by this technology are not considered to be a lot and most people feel its benefits outweigh the risks.     Abstract
    The digital sensor module is developed to sample the input signal fed from a photo-sensor probe at sampling times ranging from 400-4000 μs equivalent to sampling rates of 2500-250 sample/second (S/s), respectively. The module produces 16-bit data packets which are transmitted serially and plotted to output the photoplethysmography signal (PPG).     Abstract
    A PC-based digital lock-in amplifier was implemented completely in software (Labview) for photoplethysmograph (PPG) measurement. Experiments carried out to evaluate the performance of the amplifier show that the system can recover the signals up to 40 dB below the interference (ambient light).
