    Abstract
There are many works on annealing process of SPDed bulk metals but there are limited works on annealing process of SPDed sheets. Therefore, in this study the annealing response after constrained groove pressing (CGP) of low carbon steel sheets has been investigated. These sheets are subjected to severe plastic deformation at room temperature by CGP method up to three passes. Nano-structured low carbon steel sheets produced by severe plastic deformation are annealed at temperature range of 100 to 600 °C for 20 min. The microstructural changes after deformation and annealing are studied by optical microscopy. The effects of CGP strain and annealing temperature on microstructure, strength and...

    Abstract
An aluminum-magnesium alloy was friction-stir processed in the presence of TiO2 nanoparticles which were pre-placed in a groove on the surface to produce a composite. Field emission-scanning and transmission electron microscopy studies show that solid state chemical reactions occur between the Al-Mg matrix and the ceramic particles upon the severe plastic deformation process. The microstructure of the aluminum alloy consists of a coarse grain structure, large complex (Fe,Mn,Cr)3SiAl12 particles, and small Mg2Si precipitates. After friction stir processing, a deformed grain structure containing rod-like Al-Fe-Mn-Si precipitates is attained, along...

    Abstract
In this paper, considering the problems of common finite element (FE) codes that consider simple constitutive equations, a developed FE code that considers a new constitutive model is used to simulate the behavior of copper sheets under severe plastic deformation (SPD). The new proposed constitutive model, that considers dislocation densities in cell interiors and cell walls of material as true internal state variables, can investigate all stages of flow stress evolution of material during large plastic deformations and also can explain the effects of strain rate magnitude on the mechanical response of material, during room temperature SPD. The proposed FE analysis is used to investigate the...

    Abstract
In this study a severe plastic deformation method called constrained groove pressing (CGP) is used for imposing a high magnitude of strain into the low carbon steel sheets. Microstructural changes during process are examined by X-ray diffraction and optical observations. The grain size evolution during severe plastic deformation is studied using Williamson-Hall analysis on XRD pattern of the deformed samples. In effective strain of 4.64, ferrite grains with a submicron size of 200-300nm are achieved. The results show that constrained groove pressing can effectively refine the coarse-grained structure to an ultra fine grain range. Mechanical properties changes due to microstructure evolution...

    Abstract
Commercial purity aluminum sheets are subjected to a severe plastic deformation technique called constrained groove pressing. In this study for the first time by using some technical optimizations, a strain magnitude of 6.9 is imposed to the sheets. The grain size evolution during severe plastic deformation is studied using Williamson-Hall analysis on X-ray diffraction pattern of the deformed samples. These results and transmission electron microscopy observations show that constrained groove pressing process can effectively refine the coarse-grained structure to an ultrafine grain range. The results of mechanical tests show that imposing strain in range of 0-5.75 causes to strengthening of...
