    In this paper, we investigate the effect of incorrect disk replacement service on the availability of data storage systems. To this end, we first conduct Monte Carlo simulations to evaluate the availability of disk subsystem by considering disk failures and incorrect disk replacement service. We also propose a Markov model that corroborates the Monte Carlo simulation results. We further extend the proposed model to consider the effect of automatic disk fail-over policy.     SRAM cell stability assessment is traditionally based on static criteria of data stability requiring three coincident points in DC butterfly curves. This definition is based on static (DC) characteristics of the cell transistors. We introduce the dynamic criteria of cell data stability knowing that the cell operates in a dynamic environment alternating between access and non-access conditions.     Erasure codes are applied in storage systems including both Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and Solid State Disk (SSD) to protect arrays of disks against failures. Applying these codes in SSD-based systems incurs additional number of Program/Erase (P/E) cycles on each disk, which may accelerate the wear-out of disks. This means that while erasure codes improve reliability of SSD-based systems, they impose a side-effect that may degrade reliability as the number of P/E cycles increases.
