    Abstract
Implementation of green management in sport complexes can ensure the continuous arrangement and assessment of activities from the environmental perspective and will end up in control and prevention of contaminants. Enghelab sport complex (ESC) in Iran is selected for this study due to its size and long-term activities. Due to the comprehensive plan of the aforesaid sports complex, numerous centers and departments were established in this site in order to materialize its envisioned sports, recreational and cultural objectives. The results of the questionnaires distributed amongst the members and the personnel of the complex revealed that approximately 50 % occupants were not acquainted with...

    , Article 2006 IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology, ICMIT 2006, Singapore, 21 June 2006 through 23 June 2006 ; Volume 1 , 2006 , Pages 163-165 ; 1424401488 (ISBN); 9781424401482 (ISBN) Isaai, M. T ; Amin Moghaddam, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    2006
    Abstract
Systematic management of enterprise knowledge, e.g. new ideas, innovations and patents, has a great impact on business sustainability and growth. Without comprehensive assessment of knowledge assets, agile companies can not design and run knowledge promotion programs required for survival in competitive environments in modern economy. A comprehensive framework for the assessment of as-is situation and development of knowledge promotion plans includes (a) assessing the as-is situation- the quantity and quality of organizational knowledge; (b) developing a situational program based on assessment results, business strategy and knowledge maturity indicators; (c) and working out an action plan in...

Earthquake vulnerability assessment for urban areas using an ann and hybrid swot-qspm model

    Abstract
Tabriz city in NW Iran is a seismic-prone province with recurring devastating earthquakes that have resulted in heavy casualties and damages. This research developed a new computational framework to investigate four main dimensions of vulnerability (environmental, social, economic and physical). An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) Model and a SWOT-Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) were applied. Firstly, a literature review was performed to explore indicators with significant impact on aforementioned dimensions of vulnerability to earthquakes. Next, the twenty identified indicators were analyzed in ArcGIS, a geographic information system (GIS) software, to map earthquake...

Determination of optimal renewable energy growth strategies using SWOT analysis, hybrid MCDM methods, and game theory: a case study

    , Article International Journal of Energy Research ; 2021 ; 0363907X (ISSN) Almutairi, K ; Hosseini Dehshiri, J ; Hosseini Dehshiri, S ; Mostafaeipour, A ; Hoa, A. X ; Techato, K ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Due to population growth and industrial development, Iran is facing the challenge of energy supply in various industrial, power plant, agricultural, and residential sectors. While most of Iran's energy supply comes from fossil fuels, these fuels have devastating environmental impacts. Therefore, Iran has to invest more in its renewable energy sources. Given that many locations of Iran have significant wind, solar, and geothermal potential, this study used a combination of SWOT, multicriteria decision-making approaches, and game theory to identify the best renewable energy development plans for the country. The Stepwise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) technique was applied to weight...

Market power monitoring in electricity market by using market simulation

    , Article 2006 IEEE Power India Conference, New Delhi, 10 April 2006 through 12 April 2006 ; Volume 2005 , 2005 , Pages 509-514 ; 0780395255 (ISBN); 9780780395251 (ISBN) Soleymani, S ; Ranjbar, A. M ; Jafari, A ; Shirani, A. R ; Ranjbar, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    2005
    Abstract
This paper describes a new method for analyzing the bidding strategies of Generating Companies (GENCOs) in the Independent System Operator (ISO) point of view. ISO uses these results to detect the participants that have the potential for market power or actual exercise of market power. ISO models all GENCOs with perfect information. The proposed methodology uses the marginal cost of GENCOs as an initial point for bidding strategies of GENCOs and improves bidding strategies based on the objective function of GENCOs, the state of them in each hour of the day and with regard to ISO's market clearing problem. ISO tries to maximize the social welfare or minimize consumer's payments. The model...

    Abstract
A new methodology has been proposed which offers a systematic approach to use the so called "performance index" or cost function as the basic tool to incorporate the dynamics of the aircraft in the process of trajectory planning. Moreover, by using non-dimensional parameters a better understanding of the dynamic terms are provided. © 2005 IEEE

Model for R&D planning in energy sector

    , Article IEMC 2005: 2005 IEEE International Engineering Management Conference, St. John's, Newfoundland, 11 September 2005 through 13 September 2005 ; Volume II , 2005 , Pages 663-667 ; 078039139X (ISBN); 9780780391390 (ISBN) Shafiei, E ; Saboohi, Y ; Ghofrani, M. Abstract
Optimal allocation of resources for R&D on new energy technologies is an important issue in the process of development of energy system models. In this study, a model of R&D planning in energy sector has been developed and it is then linked to the energy system model. Energy system model is used as a tool for the technology assessment and prioritization of new energy technologies is evaluated with the help of this model. Based on the economic and environmental impact of new technologies, the optimal allocation of resources for R&D of new technology is estimated with the help of the R&D planning model. The conceptual formulation of the model and its integration with the energy technology...

Optimal planning of equipment maintenance and replacement on a variable horizon

    , Article Scientia Iranica ; Volume 11, Issue 3 , 2004 , Pages 185-192 ; 10263098 (ISSN) Kianfar, F ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
In maintenance and replacement planning of an industry, the purchasing of new equipment on the market with some kind of technological improvement over existing equipment should be taken into account. Because of operating cost, ordinary and preventive maintenance expenses may be lower, production rate may be higher and the quality of output may be better, etc. The industry to be considered in this paper is the mining industry and the replaced equipment is the mine shovel. It is assumed that, at most, one new shovel can be purchased before the mine is exhausted. It is possible that the mine is given up before exhausted, because of the disadvantage of the expense and loss of the salvage value...
