    Abstract
Polyaniline/graphene oxide (PANI/GO) co-doped with Zn2+ and Fe3+ was synthesized via a simple and low cost one-step chronoamperometry method on stainless steel (SS) as the substrate. The Fe3+-Zn2+-PANI/GO nanocomposite is characterized using X-ray diffraction as well as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and field emission scanning electron microscopy. Also, cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge-discharge, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy are used to study the electrochemical performance of the as-prepared electrode materials. Significantly, the Fe3+-Zn2+-PANI/GO nanocomposite exhibits a specific...

One step synthesis of SnS2-SnO2 nano-heterostructured as an electrode material for supercapacitor applications

    , Article Journal of Alloys and Compounds ; Volume 782 , 2019 , Pages 38-50 ; 09258388 (ISSN) Asen, P ; Haghighi, M ; Shahrokhian, S ; Taghavinia, N ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
SnS2-SnO2 nano-heterostructures are synthesized with two different precursors of thioacetamide (TAA) and thiourea (TU) at various solvent ratios (SR) of ethanol and water by using a facile, economical, scalable, and cost-effective solvothermal method. The obtained products have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and Brunauer–Emmet–Teller (BET) techniques. It is found that different precursors and various SR values have an influence on the composition and morphologies of the prepared nanostructures, leading to variation in capacitive behavior of the fabricated electrodes....

Urchin-like hierarchical ruthenium cobalt oxide nanosheets on Ti3C2T: XMXene as a binder-free bifunctional electrode for overall water splitting and supercapacitors

    Abstract
Synthesizing efficient electrode materials for water splitting and supercapacitors is essential for developing clean electrochemical energy conversion/storage devices. In the present work, we report the construction of a ruthenium cobalt oxide (RuCo2O4)/Ti3C2Tx MXene hybrid by electrophoretic deposition of Ti3C2Tx MXene on nickel foam (NF) followed by RuCo2O4 nanostructure growth through an electrodeposition process. Owing to the strong interactions between RuCo2O4 and Ti3C2Tx sheets, which are verified by density functional theory (DFT)-based simulations, RuCo2O4/Ti3C2Tx MXene@NF can serve as a bifunctional electrode for both water splitting and supercapacitor applications. This electrode...

Flexible free-standing vertically aligned carbon nanotube on activated reduced graphene oxide paper as a high performance lithium ion battery anode and supercapacitor

    , Article Electrochimica Acta ; Volume 320 , 2019 ; 00134686 (ISSN) Abdollahi, A ; Abnavi, A ; Ghasemi, S ; Mohajerzadeh, S ; Sanaee, Z ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
Here, controlled growth of vertically aligned carbon nanotubes (VACNTs) on free-standing porous activated reduced graphene oxide (a-rGO) paper was fabricated using plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition method. The electrochemical performance of prepared film was investigated to provide effective electrode for 3D flexible high-performance lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and supercapacitors. The results revealed that the prepared electrode exhibited a high specific capacitance of 347 F/g at 0.5 A/g in 1 M KOH electrolyte, 60% more than non-activated rGO-paper (218 F/g). The VACNTs on a-rGO have increased the accessible surface area and acted as efficient electrical conducting paths, which...

Facile synthesis and simulation of MnO2 nanoflakes on vertically aligned carbon nanotubes, as a high-performance electrode for Li-ion battery and supercapacitor

    Abstract
This study reports the successful fabrication of high-performance flexible binder-free lithium-ion battery anode and supercapacitor based on the synthesis of 3D hierarchical MnO2 nanoflakes (NFs) on vertically aligned carbon nanotubes (VACNTs) grown upon stainless steel (SS). The experimental results revealed that the prepared electrodes were well served as supercapacitors with a tremendous specific capacitance of MnO2 NFs VACNT/SS 1131 F/g at 0.25 A/g in 0.5 mol.L−1 Na2SO4, 518.8% more than VACNT/SS (218 F/g). Compared to other MnO2 NFs/CNT composites, as-fabricated binder-free MnO2 NFs/VACNTs electrode achieves outstanding performance with high initial discharge and charge capacities of...

    Abstract
To attain superior energy density concurrently with high power density, high-performance supercapacitors have been developed. Herein an innovative strategy has been adopted to fabricate unique binder-free electrodes composed of a unique porous structure of binary metal carbonate hydroxide nanomace-decorated hydrothermal porous carbon spheres (PCSs). Hierarchical nickel-cobalt carbonate hydroxide (NiCOCH) nanomaces, directly grown on PCSs, are used as positive electrodes for supercapacitors fabrication. Furthermore, Fe2O3@PCS composites, having benefits of highly reversible redox reaction in the negative potential window and highly porous structure, are employed as the negative electrode in...

    Abstract
The reduced graphene oxide-Fe2O3 (rGO-Fe2O3) nanocomposites were synthesized by a facile and low-cost hydrothermal method employing rGO and Iron (III) nitrate precursors. The synthesis parameters including the reduction time and presence of reduction aid are studied. The structural and morphological studies of the nanocomposites were investigated by using Raman spectra, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and field emission scanning electron microscopy. The results indicate that Fe2O3 nanoparticles with average particle size of 25 nm are well anchored on graphene sheets and the weight percent of the nanoparticles in the nanocomposites was influenced by the reduction...
