Methods The synthesized NPs were investigated for physicochemical and biological properties by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron microscope, dynamic light scattering (DLS), inductively coupled plasma, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and 3 T magnetic resonance...

Synthesis and characterization of co-doped TiO2 thin films on glass-ceramic

    , Article Materials Science in Semiconductor Processing ; Vol. 26, Issue 1 , October , 2014 , pp. 41-48 ; ISSN: 13698001 Ahmadi, N ; Nemati, A ; Solati-Hashjin, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In this research, an attempt was made to improve TiO2 photo-catalyst properties, thus pure, N-Ce co-doped TiO2 thin films were prepared on glass-ceramic substrate using a sol-gel dip-coating technique. The samples were calcinated in air at 475 °C, 550°C, and 650°C for 2 h. The result of simultaneous thermal analysis (STA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed that the presence of Ce in TiO2 could inhibit the phase transformation from anatase to rutile and enhance the thermal stability, and anatase was the dominant phase in N-Ce co-doped TiO2 samples. Also based on the results, the doping results in decreasing the size of TiO 2 crystallite. The results of ultra violet-visible light diffuse...

At last, different techniques were used to characterize the properties of synthesized electrode including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission...

The effect of direct and cross-rolling on mechanical properties and microstructure of severely deformed aluminum

    , Article Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance ; Vol. 23, Issue 1 , 2014 , pp. 115-124 ; ISSN: 10599495 Mamaghani, K. R ; Kazeminezhad, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Severely deformed commercial pure aluminum sheets by constrained groove pressing are direct and crossrolled. The grain size evolution and dislocation density during rolling are studied using Williamson-Hall analysis on x-ray diffraction patterns of the deformed samples. These results and optical microscopy observations show that subsequent direct or cross-rolling of constrained groove pressed aluminum can produce elongated fine grains. The minimum crystallite size is achieved after cross-rolling of constrained groove pressed samples. By direct-rolling or cross-rolling of annealed sheet, the maximum intensity in x-ray diffraction patterns remains on (200) like annealed aluminum but...

    , Article Applied Surface Science ; Volume 318 , 1 November , 2014 , Pages 90-94 ; ISSN: 01694332 Khederlou, K ; Bagheri, R ; Shojaei, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
X-ray diffraction and rheological measurements were used to characterize nanoparticle dispersion in LDPE/LLDPE/nanoclay hybrid nanocomposites. XRD patterns were interpreted with a novel distribution formula and rheological measurements were used to confirm the results. Results of these two methods indicated that increasing clay in all the prepared nanocomposites exhibited a significant improvement in filler-matrix interaction because of increasing the probability of polymer diffusion but further exfoliation need more compatibilizing situations. It seems that this mathematical method could be used for predicting the overall change in clay gallery d-spacing and the extent of...
